"Saftywarning" option grayed out on TomTom XL

Postby Shadowcat » Sat Jul 03, 2010 7:24 pm

Current TomTom configuration

DeviceName=TomTom XL
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XL (v9)
BootLoaderVersion=55019
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9026
ApplicationVersion=483454.1
CurrentMap=Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB
CurrentMapVersion=845.2645

I'm having a small problem with the tomtom of my grandfather. After installing a new navcore on it, new map, wel it isnt actually new but the 850.2800 for western and central europe 2Gb is not out yet, and speedcams i start the device up and everything is ok except for 1 thing.

The option where i can set what sound the device has to play when comming near a speedcam is grayed out. I think its called saftywarnings in english, the device is in dutch so i dont know the exact translation that is used in english. When i do a demo route with speedcams on the way they are shown, so it recognises the speedcams that are installed so i have no idea why the option isnt available.

Thx in advance if anyone should know the solution. :)

Confirm that you are looking in Main Menu, TomTom Services, Safety Alerts, & Change Warning preferences. Also on that same Safety Alerts page, in the lower left corner it reads "Disable Alerts" with a white X in a red circle on the icon.

The device came with official speedcams. I copied the latest ones over from here because the ones on the device where a year old i think.
And i'm not sure what you mean with "emulation software".

Yes, i'm looking under tomtom services, and i cannot click on safety warnings because it is grayed out and not clickable.

Yes they are patched. They did show up when i did a demo route.

But its getting a bit weirder. After i used the setconfig.txt file to set BTON, the safety warning option wasnt grayed out anymore but the speedcams didnt show up anymore when i do a demo route lol.
And now, whatever i do, they wont show up on a demo route.

I'm getting a little crazy here :)

On my TomTom GO 730, everything is working perfectly, but i just cannot get this thing going the way i want it :p

Oky copy the speedcams again (newest update was yesterday) , 2 files .ver + .ov2, you can only use either normal or premium cams and not both together, i reccomend premium, then patch with the keygen of your choice i reccomend GenDCT, then you will get a .dct for the cams then try again if still no luck then we will try diffrent emulations.

Woohoo finally i got them to show up again AND the option for the safety warnings isnt grayed out anymore :)
Now my grandfather has to try a route with speedcams on and then hopefully a soundwarning will be heard.
But that cant be a problem now since i can enter the safety warning option menu :)

Thx very much for the help.

And a quick other question, i dont want to make a new thread for this: what navcore do you recommend for my TomTom GO 730? Navcore currently on it is 8.351

Good news glad its sorted, I reccomend using either 9.026 or 9.051 altho your 730 is not limited to navcores it will run just about any one, currently i am running on my 720 9.103 wich is the newest, but i have not tested enouff yet to reccomend it, but so far all seems good ;) all these navcores are available in my "Latest Navcore" thread

They are for different devices ;)
The XXL has a bigger screen than the normal TT models.
