problem with map

Postby themagoo » Wed Feb 02, 2011 4:23 pm

Hi and HELP

This is my first go at the forum. I have a problem that I hope you can help me with. I ran Fastactivate and now when I start mt XL IQ routes all I get is 'You cannot use this map on this device: Western and Central Europe 2 GB 106'
I can't do anything or get beyond this page.
Any ideas or help will be most welcome.
Thanks
JM

Either you navcore or map did not get patched. You can confirm the map patch by looking for a .meta.dct file in the map folder.

I too get version error in tt home.

I am running with:
DeviceVersionHW=GO 930
BootLoaderVersion=55274
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9160
ApplicationVersion=567967.2
CurrentMap=Europe_2GB_860_3102

What parameters do I need for my .bak file please? (and how you get them)

To fix version error.
Open the ttgo.bif file with Notepad.
Replace lines 9 & 10 with these:
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8351
ApplicationVersion=9982
"Save as" ttgo.bak
Disconnect & reboot.

8351 are the first 4 digits of the official current navcore for your device.
9982 are the remaining digits of that same navcore.

OK, not working so far. I should clarify, this was for the SD card which I have updated as you said. The device ttgo.bif is 8351/9982 already. Do I need to add a .bak file for that too?

A card with a navcore & map on it becomes the default system when inserted. Yes, you need to create a .bak for the card, using the card's .bif file.

Maybe I've made an error somewhere but I think I did exactly as you said: created the .bak file on sd using the official navcore info but the sd card wasn't in the device just attached to the pc via a card reader. Then trying the card and the sd together tt home still comes up with version errors (ie for both device and sd).

Any ideas?

I did - read and understood. I thought at first I had incorrectly saved the .bak file as .txt but that wasn't it so I am still mystified. Still shows this fault (x2)

I decided to do a complete reinstall of the navcore before repeating your instructions. Seems to be ok this time, thanks.
