hmmm..
your device is pretty old...
its got 32MB's of ram, a 3.5" screen, only 200 Mhz of processing power,
and an old NavCore + MAP version....
Time for a new GPS?
:)

Ok but till then,
i believe you'll need to update your current NavCore
so it'll be compatible with the new Australia MAP....

#01.
do a full backup of you device...
follow my tutorial on how to do so --> Here!

#02.
Once a full backup of you device is made,
Download TOMTOM CLEAR FLASH TOOL --> Here!
and use that to delete everything thats on your GPS...

#03.
Now that your GPS is 100% empty,
go on and install NAvCOre 8.412.123....
Get part#1 --> Here!
and extract content onto your GPS
Then Get part#2 --> Here!
and also extract content onto your GPS
(overwrite all files if asked)

#04
now time to install a MAP...
get the Australia v845.2661 MAP --> Here!
and extract content onto your GPS
(password for extraction if asked; navitotal)

#05
disconnect GPS from PC,
and reboot it...

#06

connect to PC again now

#07
you need to register/activate your MAP now...
to do so, download KEYGEN 4.1D --> Here!
make sure to ignore your antivirus alerts...
this KEYGEN is 100% clean....

#08
now extract content somewhere on your PC
(password for extraction if asked; navitotal)
and run Tomtom4.exe
(If you use vista or Win7, Right click and run as admin)

#09
once it shows up,
click MAKE MAP KEYS
then click MAKE DCTs
and ignore truck map error if any....

#10
your done...
disconnect GPS from PC
and check if it works!!

Eskro,

Many thanks for getting back to me when I was in OZ.

The TomTom was invaluable for finding my around, much better than my wife changing between reading and distance glasses and standing on her head to read the map when we are travelling south !!

I’m now back in the UK and would like to revert to my UK maps. I backed these up as per your instructions before installing the Oz maps.

I’ve noticed with the Oz maps that the menu choices are much improved than my UK maps, does this mean I have a later software version now installed?

Can I simply copy the UK map folder from my backed up version and paste it into the backed up version of my Oz maps, which I also backed up? (deleting the Oz maps as there’s not enough memory for both).

My TomTom version is:

Device
App 8.412 (1236/090403) OS:303268
32 MB RAM (free: 5.5MB)
GPS v1.20, Boot 4.8600

Many thanks again.

Rod

1. You need to update the Bootloader. You have 4.8600 & 8.412 comes with 5.5128.
2. Current UK & ROI map is 855.2884. This map will require patching. If you elect to use your old map, remove the OZ folder & copy in your UK folder. If this map was previously patched on this device, you do not have to repatch it.

Hi,

With the device connected I removed the Australian map folders, there were two: TomTomMapAustralia845.2662 & Australia_845-2661

I then copied my Europe & UK map folde: Western_and_Central_Europe

It now say "Your device code is (Removed Device ID, Security Reasons) To activate go to [Please Register or Login to download file] "

Can't find this on the www site, any suggestions please?

Thanks

Rod

You need to use 1 of the keygens to activate your map , i reccomend AutoActivate ;)

i reccomend AutoActivate too :)

I've downloaded the two Autoactivate rar files, but when I try to open them with Rarzilla it says they are password protected?

I'm not sure what I'm doing here, any chance of an idiots guide to do this?

Cheers

passw = navitotal

Ok,

I've now got Autoactivate V1.4_09.10.2010 in the TomTom GO300 root directory.

When I click on it it appears to operate ok, then it says 'press any key' after which nothing happens?

Am I missing something here?

I've tried the TomTom and it's still asking for a activation code, if I just 'ok' it without entering a code it says 'You cannot use this map on this device' 'Western_and_Central_Europe'.

This is the map I backed up when I put the Australia maps in?

Is it possible these maps are not compatible with other software I updated when I put the Australia maps in?

Cheers

Rod

autoactivate does what it says...

it auto activates your MAP for you....

have you patched your NAvCore?

Thu Oct 28, 2010 3:41 pm

I've used TomTom Keygen 2009 as in the tutorial, clicked on 'Make Map Keys' followed by 'Make DCTS'

I don't understand how to patch NavCore?

Thanks

Rod
