Please help me I have tried everything.

Postby marcy99 » Sun Sep 19, 2010 9:31 pm

Ok I have been trying all day and I just don't know what to do, I am trying to put tomtom 7 on a nav pin 570 but after I activate the map it says that it can't start due to insufficient memory. I have tried loading the navcore 7.910 on the rom storage to free up the GB map v855.2931 but nothing is working, I just don't get it ?? I have spent over 3 hours looking for a solution to this problem.

Is there anyway I can install tomtom on to my pda so that it would have enough memory to run it. What am I doing wrong? please help me.

Are you trying to use 7.910?

I am currently using 7.910 yes, I can install the tomtom when there are no maps on the sd the tomtom loads but obviously says theres no maps, as soon as I load a map and activate it, my problem starts.

I have no experience of this device but have had the same problem on a phone.does it say this when you try to run tom tom , if so i had similar on my mobile and it was down the shortcut for the tom tom app .normally i think this happens when the full tom tom program is created again instead of just a short cut

We just had this problem. Running TomTom 7.910 on a generic Win CE 6 PNA - Memory Problem Fatboyfun offered suggestions there also.

I didn't try creating a shortcut, I was trying to load it from the sd card or from the ram storage. Would it make a difference if I create a shortcut on the desktop? after all I am still trying to access the same file? is this how you solved your problem?

7.9xx is only really for HTC devices. 7.450 (or at least the "fixed" version, i've installed on several devices where 7.9xx crashes with an out of memory error, Google for it as i've been told off for linking to it. And it runs V8.55 maps ok.

Ahhh you have a wince 4.2 based device, It is possible to run tomtom 7 but it's much more trouble than it's worth. I suggest igo or Garmin for a trouble free nav program.

Yes I have read that thread before, so I tried several maps 855 931 and 855 2884, as soon as I activate them I get memory error. I have tried fastactivate and easy activate. Don't get me wrong asking for advice on this subject is a last resort, I have literally been studying this site all week. I know you must get sick and tired of the same questions everyday. There just doesn't seem to be a solution anywhere. Its so frustrating because I can put the map on the sc card unactivated and load tomtom but as soon as its activated I get the error.

On windows mobile you just need garmin mobile xt, you don't need the fixed for wince 4.2 version, you will need to run a keygen and copy/paste some text into a file but it's easy.
