One XL breakdown. How can revive my unit?

Postby ruepeet » Mon Jul 25, 2011 3:07 am

I updated my One XL with new Navcore and Maps (with your kind help) and everything worked perfectly for several months. Then, on a long trip suddenly the map seemed to freeze, then whole unit froze and reset does not help. I removed the SD and reinstalled from a backup, but the unit still freezes on the TomTom screen. Is there something else I can do to revive my unit? Thanks.

Try the following in order:

1) Hold the reset button down for at least 15 seconds. Test. Repeat
2) Use TomTom clear flash tool. Test. Try again. Test
3) Temporarily remove the file mapsettings.cfg from the map folder. Reboot
4) Try a new SD card and restore your backup. Test
5) Last resort - Start again with a fresh install:

a) Delete everything from your SD card except the ttgo.bif file
b) Connect to pc via USB and download all navcore updates from TomTom Home
c) Copy across the latest clean map (not the one from your backup)
d) Connect to pc again and patch using FastActivate Premium 1.8.7.1
e) Reboot
