Newby looking for help...

Postby 444doom » Sat Feb 16, 2019 12:34 pm

Hi
I've got TomTom xxl classic series, here is all the info about my device:

DeviceName=TomTom XXL Classic Series
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XXL Classic
DeviceSerialNumber=GQxxxxxxxxxx
BootLoaderVersion=55282
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9541
ApplicationVersion=3145439.2
CurrentMap=
CurrentMapVersion=0.0

Storage: Size 1884mb, free 1774mb.

Since I registered in here I've been looking for up to date map of Lithuania or any other up to date map that has Lithuania in it, but couldn't find any. Some didn't work at all, some didn't contain what I needed, some are far too big. So here I am asking for help... Could someone (if there is such person) give me a link of a map that would work on my device, have Lithuania in it and be up to date..?

To find out which map has Lithuania in it, you need to download and refer to Poteo_Roke's excel document on the following page:

topic20675.html

I've just had a quick look and this one looks good for you and it DOES have the meta code needed to activate it:

Central and Eastern Europe 1020.9244 = 1.45GB

Follow this procedure after downloading the map:

1. Download the latest FastActivate:
ftp://FastactivateDownloadOnly2017:Fast ... tivate.rar
2. Extract the archive to the root of your device
3. Run FastActivate and select option 1 to generate a file called 'Updated_meta.txt'
4. Locate 'Updated_meta.txt' in the root and rename it to META.txt
5. Select option 2 to activate the map
6. Select option 3 to activate the navcore...disconnect, reboot and test

What's the result?

Thank you, fred. It worked, maps function as intended, these are not exactly up to date, but I guess it's still better than no map!

What do you mean by that?

The 1020 map is actually newer than the 1015 one currently advertised for sale at the TomTom shop:

So how 'new' are you expecting...please explain what you know about the maps that the rest of the TomTom community doesn't?

Ugh... Crap I seem o have downloaded the wrong one "Central_and_Eastern_Europe_1010_8891". But what I meant with "not exactly up to date is that these roundabouts were not in the map

Ok, well obviously it would help if you downloaded the map I linked you to...a 1010 map is at least 6 months old now

Other than that, there is a map correction menu on your device that you can use to submit map corrections that TomTom need to look into

The speed at which new roads and features are included in map releases has improved considerably since Tom Tom purchased Tele Atlas (the folk who produce the maps) back in 2008. On average, it appears to be around 6-12 months for new roads to show up, whereas before 2008 in could be 2-3 years at best.
