Newbie question about aftermarket GPS and Tom Tom

Postby golfvgti » Fri Dec 31, 2010 2:39 am

Hi Every one.
I have looked on the forum but cannot find the answer to my question.

I have a Tom Tom 500 and a TT910 and prefer the TT experience to other GPS I have used in other cars.

I was researching to find a way to add Ipod connectivity to my VW GOlf V GTI ,when on Ebay, I came across an aftermarket GPS unit with all the whistles.

It is an A-sure Technology unit which runs on Windows CE 6 and has 128 Mb RAM. The listing suggests that it will run Tom Tom software, is this likely to be honest practical and do-able?....if so how ?

Many thanks for your help

The WinCE version of Tomtom rarely works on Double Din WinCE6 devices and is just a basic navcore anyway, ie, No TTS ALG etc.
