Newbie needs help with TT ONE update

Postby MagicMan26 » Sat Dec 04, 2010 9:13 pm

I trawled the forums but still not 100% sure I understand what I have to do to update my TT ONE. I found my device info according to one of the tutorials and have posted it all below. I basically want to update it to have the newest software and maps possible on the device, but don't know where to start and don't wanna break the thing in the process. If anyone could point me towards a good tutorial/download, and let me know the order to do things in that would be great! Thanks in advance.

DeviceName=TomTom ONE
DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v8)
BootLoaderVersion=55011
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
ApplicationVersion=9369
CurrentMap=United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland
CurrentMapVersion=715.1689

p.s. An upgrade to a N. Europe (inc. UK) would be awesome too

We were all there once so don't worry about asking questions, make sure you backup your tomtom so you can put it back to as it was before you started.

Make a backup of your current setup, using Windows Explorer.
Go here: TomTom Automatic Navcore Installation Read ALL of the instructions CAREFULLY!!
Select SE_Navcore.9.205.547817_32mb_devices.rar (Widescreen ONLY)
Use this map. Western Europe 860.3101 You will need a 4GB SD card due to the map's size.

You only have to patch Home if you need the simulation of your device in Home all other functions will work fine without patching Home.

Look for this folder in the root of your device. "][email protected] Copy it into the extensions folder here:

With XP
C:\Documents and Settings\ User Name\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\extensions

With Vista or Windows 7
C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\extensions

Patch it with AutoActivate, also found in the root..

Hi, more help needed please.

I downloaded and installed the navcore as adiviced, all seems ok.

but as it do no have a 4gb sd card, i thought i would just install the maps for iberia on a 2gb sd card (i live in spain). so i installed iberia 860- 3123.
however when i re-booted and installed i get the message ''u cannot use this map on the device: iberia-224''.
have i done something wrong or is it that this is the wrong map??
again thanks in advance.

Full featured Iberia 860.3101 is what you want, not 860.3123. Confirm that you put a copy of your devise's ttgo.bif file on the card with the map before you patched the map.

Confirm that you have a .meta.dct file in the map folder.
