Have you checked the volume settings? If you click on the left pane of the statusbar during a call you should be able to adjust the volume.
Apart from that it is often caused by an incompatible phone - have you checked the TT Homepage if your phone is supported?

Hi guys, I decided to update to this Navcore. After installing, I ran Fastactivate premium to patch the ttsystem. Now when I start the unit (Go730) I get the same error as several others, namely 'you cannot use this map on this device'. I was using one of the 885 maps without problem before the Navcore update. I have tried autoactivate to patch the system, as another poster successfully did, but it didnt work. I have tried both to patch the maps but still without success.

Any thoughts?

Exactly the same problem for me. :wallbash:

TomTom GO730 + Navcore 9.400 + 885 Map don't work.

But Everything works like a charm with Navcore 9.400 + 880 Map or old Navcore 8.351 and new 885 Map.

Thanks for the feedback. The other map on mine was an 880 :wallbash:

AUTOactivate WILL NOT patch a navcore. FastActivate Premium will.

Hi tendriver, thanks for replying. Whether fast activate premium should do, it appears not to on my unit. Is the fact that the 'maps cannot be used' error appears is due to the Navcore needing patching properly?

Forgot to say that on using Fastactivate, it came up with the warning that the navcore was already patched??

For the first couple of days after 9.400 was released, I read a few posts that users had to repatch their maps to function with patched 9.400. Nobody knows why.

Refresh my memory, did you download 9.400 from TT Home?

I did, after connecting to TT Home, and it downloaded the 55 MB update and rebooted itself. I've tried repatching the map but that didnt work neither, using autoactivate or fast activate. I might remove the map folders, put in another 885 UK and ROI and try patching that and see how it goes.

Just removed map folders and put another 885 map on and patched with autoactivate, but still the same 'Problem with this map' error.

You might want to consider that a new Navcore from Home needs to be patched to accept your maps? ;)

Hi Downunder35m; that is what I was trying to do, and fastactivate premium was saying that the Navcore had already been patched when I ran it to update the ttsystem. I think the only other thing to do at present is to remove the contents of the unit and put on the backup I did before TThome updated to 9400, unless there is another workaround?

Update - I gave up messing around and restored my old 9.051 Navcore version that I had backed up. It all works fine, and as I need the Tomtom this week, I ain't messing around with it any more until we have some firm conclusions that 9400 patches without issue :D. At the moment it is too hit or miss. I appreciate that some people have successfully patched it and it works fine, but it appears that others like myself are not so lucky!

I would like to TEST this new nacore on my GO 740 LIVE.
But I would like to be sure to be able to downgrade back to my 8.371 navcore: will the new 9.4 bootloader allow me to go back to 8.x navcore ?
Anyone downgrade 9.4 to 8.x ?

I mean downgrade by clearing memory card, and copy back from backup (before upgrade)

Thank's for your advice

Vincent

Previous 9.058 navcore was a nightmare due to about 4 or 5 slower than 8.371 !

The bootloader has nothing to do with a "downgrade" , mostly because the term is completely wrong.
You can install whatever NC you like and change to a lower version at any time (if you don't use Home for that).
Make a full backup using Windows Explorer and you can always go back to the current state.
