[Discussion] Navcore 9.510 with automatic power on function

Postby sirloinofbeef » Sat Aug 31, 2013 10:58 pm

A 'feature' of the new navcore is that if the device is detected as not being moved for 3 minutes (or a bit less), the unit will shut down automatically unless the user clicks 'cancel'. A nice feature for some, an annoyance for others. It would have been better if TomTom had added this as an option under battery saving settings, rather than an exposed 'feature'. Ah well.

I have been unable to install this Navcore 9.510 on my XXL540. It just gets stuck on the opening splash screen. I've tried long formatting the Tomtom and reinstalling, and re-downloading the navcore to no avail.

Did you try to manually edit the reskin file, let's say to X40 emulation?

Instructions on how to are found in several of my installer NC, do a forum or Google search if in doubt.

I have a similar problem with my 550 Live and EMUx50. It logs on to my account OK using my user name and password but any access to live services results in a message that it is unable to confirm my subscription and to try later. Every time I switch the 550 on it shows the spinning wheel in the traffic bar for a short while and then gives up.

I have tried a factory reset and soft reset. Also asked TomTom to relink my account - nothing seems to work.

Anybody got any ideas as I think I will have to revert to the original navcore. That will be a shame as I really like the auto power on feature and just can't understand why TomTom don't make it a standard option.

I have now restored my 550 Live to the standard navcore and the traffic function is now working OK again. So unfortunately it doesn't seem to work with the auto power on modified navcore.

hi, any help and advice would be welcome..

im trying to sort out and update a tomtom xl 32mb memory with only 1gb harddrive. app 8.803 with uk and Ireland 855.2804 map 4eg0.001.13

I have backed it up using windows,.most of the time I have connected to pc it saves about formatting or checking for errors..

I run disk check, formatted drive and even run tomtom flash tool,. and I tried putting on 9.510 app on and 915.5074 uk and Ireland map on,. I run latest fast activator it does its thing,. I then start tomtom it just hangs on tomtom logo and wont do anything..

I would like map and app so I can use lane guidance aswell please..

any suggestions would be very grateful as im sure you lot on here have been doing this along time and will no the answer.

cos I know if I reformatt put back up back on it works fine...

I managed to do another tomtom xxl iq routes with latest maps speed and fuel with not many problems and that's running fine. so cant figure this out..????

thanks and all the best Brian

1. formatting is bad and we have warnings about that all over the forum
2. I don't know any 5.510 app as I only use Navcores on my TT's
3. you obviously missed our Navcore section as it contains dedicated solutions for your problem
