Navcore 8.414 with LoquendoTTS support for old 32mb devices

Mon Aug 15, 2011 6:42 am

Since there are still quite few users that want to get spoken streetnames on their old devices I tried to create a Navcore that gives enough free Ram to do just this.
If you need the Truck map for your 32mb device check here : :link:

Please read all!]
Since I have no device to test it, I need your feedback!
Please post your device, the pack you installed and how much free Ram you got with an active route.
If you find any problems with this Navcore please post it in this thread and don't open a new one.
Mp3 support should work, but this Navcore does not support maps with the HNR feature.
Before you add a map, check the chart !!
[spoiler]General Info]
The small pack is just the basic Navcore without any further content - you can use that if you already have a backup with Loquendo folder or if you want to keep it small and add the voice you need yourself.
The big pick pack contains several standard voices, UK, US and DE Loquendo V7 voices and full language support for chinese devices.
The chinese support is so far untested as well.

Installation - read carefully!]
For both packs :
Make a full backup using the Windows Explorer, Home won't backup all your files!!
Download and unpack the archive to an empty SD or your empty internal memory.
Add the map of your choice.
Password for all: downunder
Add a copy of your ttgo.bif file from your backup to the root of your device/SD card.
Use FastActivate or AutoActivate in the latest version to activate your map.
The Navcore is already patched and should not be patched again!!
Press and hold the reset button for 30+ sec.
Devices without : Hold the power button for 20+ sec.
Start your device and make your settings.

Important Informations - must read!]
If you add any other Loquendo voices don't use Home, use the files offered in the forum's voices section instead.
When adding a voice make sure not to overwrite any existing files.
This could cause your voices to go silent.

The device will start in it's native emulation for the first time.
That means you might only get supprt for features that your original Navcore would offer, plus the TTS voices of course.
You can try to change the emulation in using the Skin Chooser on the last page of the menu.
If you don't get to see the skin chooser in the menu your device won't support other emulations at this stage.
On some devices changing the emulation can cause the device to freeze.
So before you try it, make a bakup of your working setup!
Devices with a mic will get ASR spport as well, for all other devices the ASR folder should be removed from the device.
In case your device is completely silent from the beginning download this attachment and unpack to the root of your device/SD card, confirm to overwrite! :

Nope, the password is correct. I just downloaded & unzipped 841432tts.rar (small file) with the password as published.

I included the right password in the posting to make sure a user really reads the instructions provided, but it seems that is not the case here.
Please read the first complete as stated on the spoiler and you won't have problems.
