Navcore 9.401 Fan Edition, works on 32mb models too

Postby optimvs » Tue Mar 13, 2012 1:49 pm

Hi Downnunder,
you are right, I have a backup. Anyway we will wait for the SE version, I hope.
About memory, for the 32Mb model there aren't signifacant problems I think.
With the 9.160 SE it's about 4Mb free, skin x40, speed right, no problems, never hangs, even on reboots or shutdowns. (Loq.uncompressed+Lane Guides+3Panels (-BLuetooth disabled)
With the 9.401 you provided, 6,7MB free, speed right maybe faster, never hangs, work Loq.uncompressed,2Panels,Bluetooth enabled, x30 skin.
Thanks for your work.

Congrats!!. There is one small problem!! The 885.4010 map does not have IQ Routes or ALG! You want 885.4009.

Thank you thank you thank
I bought a Toyota Aygo a few months ago. It had a tomtom toyota II (eclipse II) installed.
I live in Greece and there were no greek menus and no greek charsets maps.
I've tried everything. I contacted toyota, I contacted tomtom and although right now it is sold in the basic config of the aygo, their response was 'sorry'.
I downloaded your file, I followed the instructions, I changed the "reskin" file because I had no menus, and VOILA !!! Greek language, menus, maps, the whole lot.
Downunder35m keep doing what you're doing mate. You are magnificent.
Thank you soooooooo much
Andrew

Thanks for the nice feedback!
It's surprising to see how many devices are supported by this NC.
Seems TT finally created a NC without the limitations from previous releases.
Maybe they are doing the same thing now with older devices like on the new NC11 devices - one NC for all devices.
Would be too nice of them to create a similar version for the 32mb models even if it would be without TTS.

What did you change in the reskin?
Just so that other Eclipse users know what to change ;)

I left only "18-GO x20;25-GO x30;24-GO x40"

Hi Downunder,

I have been playing with this NC for a few days now on my TT ONE New Edition and UK 885.4009. Overall, it seems to navigate OK with all the skin settings. However, there are a number of little niggles which I wondered if there might be a work around for, or am I just stuck with them in such an old model? I have 4 to 5Mb free ram with the map and a route loaded which is good. I have removed the Loquendo folder as I was having voice problems but still am. The voice/sounds disappear if I try to select non-standard OGG files downloaded through Home. Also, the clock appears to stop(?) when the unit is switched off, and quite often changes the hours randomly if I try to sync it with a good sat lock. When I switch it off and then on again in a reasonably short time it starts up as I would expect. However,, if it is left off for a longer period it starts from scratch with the TT drums and the yellow loading bar across the bottom. Any loaded route has been cleared and the sats take quite a time to lock.

Please don't take this a me complaining:) It is interesting to see what the old machine can do with such an updated NC, and it allows me to have many more facilities than I had on 8.010:D I was just wondering if, with your knowledge of the NC and its workings, there is anything I can change/delete that could make it run in a more stable manner - and I know you said you have no 32Mb units to play with. Many thanks, and keep up the great work!

You can remove the suicde.dat to prevent the total turn off or change the time within.
If it just for new features and less problems you might want to try the 9.205

Since you like to play, my I request that you replace 885.4009 with 885.4055, which is more suited for your unit.

See if anything changes from your report in post 52.

Thanx.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try to get a free slot and download it. I don't think the meta was available for 4055 when I loaded this NC.

Dose it have the option "Turn off instructions", leaving "Sound on"? Especially in x40 mode.

@Hamish: It has "Turn off voice guidance".

@promitheas: All maps are located in the map threads, no need to ask here.
