Can anyone help please. I have updated my go 550 live and out a new map on an sd card, which is patched and all works. When i try to update the map it wont allow it. looking at the preerences as it only allows changes made by Tomtom not many users. when i go into tomtom home, mapshare preferences, the slider does not move nor can i select anything (see attached) if it is a incorrect entry in the files, which one please do i change and to what.

if i revert back to my old map on the device, it updates the old map fine.

Any ideas please.

I have UK & ROI 860.3123, Nav 9.160.

First a question for you. Why install partially featured 860.3123 instead of full featured 860.3101

Hi i maybe wrong, but all i need is Iq routes ALG and house numbers, i really am not sure what the differnces are between the 2 maps. Not sure what cspeech etc is and what benefit it has. Sorry Newbie!

1. 3123 does not have HNR. Unless you are in Greece or Russia, you have no need for this feature.
2. cspeech & ASR allows you to plan a trip using spoken address entry. This is a standard feature on a x50 series device.

1. The mapshare settings do not change, when you switch maps. What message are you getting when you attempt to update 3123.
2. Confirm that you can't change the slider on your 550 with Main Menu, Map corrections, Correction preferences.

Hi Tendriver,
i have changed the slider on the tomtom to many users, but when i go into tomtom home it wont move, although it does give me the option of numerous speed cameras across the globe. i had the original map on the internal drive (which i could update) and put the new 860 map and navcore on the microsd card (which wont update) can i copy any files from the internal drive to the SD so that it can work. I have HD traffic etc one free year subscription which i dont want to lose.

Change the 550 unit slider to Trusted Sources & the Home slider should become movable.

BTW, I'm still concerned about your map choice.

Full Featured UK&ROI 860.3101.

Downloading as we speak. can you please suggest a good navcore, is the 9.160 OK, still no joy with the updates, perhaps the new map may help.

9.160 is OK, provided you loaded the .cab files & only the ttsystem + PNDNavigator files from the ttsystem.rar download + you have x50 emu set.

Sorry, lost me completly! is there an idiots version, as i really dont know which version to put on there. i got the navcore core from the latest navcore section and went for the highest number which appeared to be cracked. ( X_SE_ttsystem.9.160.567967.rar, X_SE_Navcore.9.160.567967.Basicpack.rar)
do you think that this is what is causing the device not to update? could you suggest which one i should use please. The device works ok in all aspects apart from the updating issue.

Some devices have 32MB RAM memory and need a liitle help ( X_SE_ttsystem.9.160.567967.rar, X_SE_Navcore.9.160.567967.Basicpack.rar) to run the newer navcores. Others, like your 550, have 64MB RAM and don't need that help. For those units, we suggest installing the .cab version ([Please Register or Login to download file] ) + only the ttsystem & PNDNavigator files from X_SE_ttsystem.9.160.567967.rar.
