Map activation problem on TOMTOM one New edition

Thu Jan 26, 2012 7:49 pm

Hello,

First thing congratulations for this great site and for the big amount of work.

Here is my problem.

1-I have a TOMTOM one NEW edition
2-I have a French map v652.1204 (which is an old one but widely sufficient for me)
3-I have updated my TOMTOM to the up to date Navcore v7.903
4-I have to go to Australia....and found the v880.3865 on the site.
Downloaded and installed it without problem with Fastactivate at the end.
All seem have worked correctly creation of the Australia-479.meta.dct file for example.
5-However when I disconnect the tomtom from the PC and after a restart when I try to see the australian map it is impossible. (I try that going to "Change preferences" then "Map corrections" and unfortunately at this level i only see my damned French map);
6-I am not a specialist as you see...maybe my mistake is evident...but not able to find it.

Thanks a lot for you help

Thierry

You make no mention of patching your 7.903 navcore, which you must do.

Yes I have patched to the good version (point 2 of my first mail)

Sorry point 3!!

None of it says anything that you patched the Navcore, you say you updated.

Yep. We are on the same trail.

You are right.
But it has been patched already (when I run Fastactivate it is written already patched)

But I am sure that I have patched during the 880 map installation with Fastactivate but it was after the .dct creation (order of Fastactivate). Is there a pb here ?

No, as long as the Navcore is patched and the map activated it should work fine.

He is using the wrong map.
880-3865 is for navcore 8.2xx and above.
Try using either a later navcore or 880-3811 map.

That is sooo true...

Sometimes its the most obvious thing that we miss!

Thanks a lot.
Will try with 880-3811 map.
Is there a place on the site speaking about compatibility between navcore and map;

For the TOMTOM one New Edition the navcore to use is v7.903.

1. Post 1 of every All New Maps XXX.XXXX thread has a compatibility chart in it.

2. 7.903 is the current official navcore for your unit. That doesn't mean that you can't use a different one to get a better map.
