How to activate a map on SD slot only?

Sat May 02, 2015 7:30 am

Hi
I have searched for help but can not find any hint.

I have successfully patched maps on various TT with internal memories so far, but now I got stuck.

I have another TOMTOM with an SD slot and a 4gb card.
Since the internal memory is not enough for the EUROPE map, its installed on the SD and no map internally.
now the free updates by TT are over and I wanted to install a new 945 map and patch it.

the only way to do it is to remove the old 9xx map from the SD card and put a new 945 on it..
however the patching with fastactivate does not work, because its asking for the drive of the tomtom device which is of course different, then the SD card. TT is E: and SD has F:

I have tried everything..
fastactivate on the internal memory, on the SD card..

I am sure there is a simple sollution.
any hint is welcome

I guess you did not bother to check the tutorials?
You only need three things to patch and activate:
ttgo.bif, correct map and a genuine Navcore as all others are already patched.
If the above is available FastActivate will work just fine.

I have read all these , else I would not have been able to patch other devices so far ;)
But I did not get the idea to copy the ttgo.bif onto the sd card to get it to work.
I guess thats what you are telling me right ? ;)

Tried it and it works fine.

Thanks a lot :)

See, if all files are there it works just fine ;)
Reason is that the BIF file contains the serial number of your device, without it FA can't do nothing.
