Hello, I'm a bit newbie in this area.

I have a TomTom ONE 3rd Edition.

Can you recommend a navcore and UK map for me.

Cheers.

If you don't like 8.412, you have a couple more options: 8.414, 9.025 or 9.026

I don't either, unless I know it is OK.

Yes but if a small screen device uses a v9 navcore it can run ok, but it would lack the full status bar , this is the main reason i do not reccomend it ;)

Yep. That is why I only listed 9.025 & 9.026.

Why ?? as the user will not get the full status bar with these navcores so therfore i think those 2 navcores are not suitable for a 3.5" device

May I suggest you do a little research on these 2 navcores.

These 2 navcores can run ok on a small screen device if the navcore is the origional officiall navcore for the device and ttsystem patchd as opposed to using a SE version, a one 3rd edition does not have a v9 navcore as a officiall navcore so these navcores apperance will not be very good, some people do run these navcores on such devices but apperance and other things are compromised this is why i do not reccemend them and strongly advise users do not use v9 navcores on 3.5" devices unless it is an officiall navcore for the device, i can only advise on what i have found from my own trial and error with devices and helping others upgrade devices.

All us mods have our opinion and favorite navcores and this is just my opinion your opinion on this may well be diffrent , just sharing my 2pence worth ;) :drinkingbuddies:

I am sure that you are aware of the ONE.cab downloads for both 9.025 & 9.026.

yes but as i said in my last post i only reccomend one of these navcores for a 3.5" device if it is a officiall navcore for a device and the user can just patch the ttsystem as oppose to using a se version as this will cause problems with things like the status bar ;)

A ONE 3rd Edition is old enuf that it will never have an "official" navcore newer than 8010. Your 720 will never have an "official" navcore newer than 8.351. That being said, 9.025 & 9.026 have versions for a ONE. There is no way that I am going deny a member the opportunity to try either one of them. We can always do something else if need be.

the versions for "one" models in v9 navcores is "One IQ Routes (2009)" This is a small screen device and the device those navcores can run on, but any of the other models is a no no if you want the full status bar and other things. ;)

This is what i have said all along and this is what i reccomend users , as long as the v9 navcore is the officiall for the device then it is fine as you can Patch the ttsystem but using an SE version will cause problems like the bottom status bar gets squashed up

OK, Here's my 2p worth.
I've tried several versions of 9 Navcores for the TT One V3 (512mb & 1Gb versions) and Also the TT One V4. Most have had problems with the squashed Menubar, and various TTS problems (mainly speed), I've have now settled on:
Nav: 9.051 Mirielle Edition. (Google: NC9+ME+v1.0.0-pre6) it doesn't seem to be listed here as a viable Navcore, not too sure why as it runs awesome on the listed models.
It's designed to patch a fresh install of 9.051 on most systems. And it runs fine. It uses the TomTom Start menubar which is correctly shrunk to fit, TTS & IQ Routes etc all work fine too, with no slowing down on my V3, Also the Photo viewer And MP3 player work fine too. The only time it glitches is when you're playing MP3's while Navigating, The music will stop while it speaks, and then start playing again, but there may be a ten second (or so) delay while it sorts itself out again.
Also, For those that are interested (I've been meaning to do a tutorial document, but haven't had time yet), If you switch Pin 9 (tt motherboard) or Pin 2 CMD on the SDHC Adaptor, you can then Dual boot to your Internal Memory or your 4gb SDHC soldered in memory (Note: 4GB seems to be the Maximum size for this to work). Please note, in order to switch, you have to press 'Reset' to shut the device down, then flick the switch, then power back up again. I've not been brave enough to 'Hot Switch' yet as i think it might fry the board or memory. But it means you can run 9.051 with all the goodies, and 8.010 with Tomplayer, Nanox, games etc. Pretty cool!. Does anyone have a place for pictures so i can insert some into this Thread? Cheers Guys.
