GPS Week Rollover event 6 April 2019

Postby winactive » Wed Feb 13, 2019 1:28 pm

So, I checked and tried to update my Go 730.

I'd wiped it prior to connecting to TomTom and it offered navcore 8.351 and told me I could recieve an exclusive upgrade offer to a Go 620 or Go 6200 (both not much cheaper than Amazon) as my device was going to stop working (as expected) in a few weeks.

Via these forums I already run navcore 9.510 and the 1020 maps, thanks! Does anyone know if this navcore will be okay come the date of Armageddon or not?

Thanks in advance.

It's a good question...we'll have to wait and see but I suspect it'll be the same situation as the Y2K bug

You can check your device by inputting the serial number on the following page:

[Please Register or Login to download file]

However, there's no need as the Go 730 will be fine as it's mentioned on the official navcore page of the latest NC 9.541 update:

TomTom wrote:

I have an One XL with NC9.701 with truck map with the date problem, does NC9.541 solve this problem ?
If so can I use the link above ?
Replace the existing glgps by the 9,541 file did not help

It depends on the chipset...if it's a Global Locate L1 chip then the answer is no

I’m still using:
TomTom One 2nd Edition
9.700.1133776.1
547200 (2031, 6-12-2012)
GPSv1.20, Boot 5.5120
I did replace the file \bin\glgps by that of 9.541 navcore.
It does seem to fix OK but still have the clock changing to 0:00. issue.
So this could be due to the Global Locate L1 chip ?

That's what we reckon.

I was given Tomtom GO LIVE with 9.702 Truck navcore and 0:00 clock issue. Changed bin\GLGPS from 9.541 and clock works fine now :024:

Hi,

Trying to fix my parents TomTom One XL
Serial starting with L160xxxxxxx
4S00.000
Bootloader 5.326

I try to figure out if I can fix it or not. It's not giving the time problem as anounced but more trouble with having GPS conection. --but maybe this is connected with the time issue --
Even when I look into the sattelites and have connection with 4 or 5 it still says no signal...
I did do a factory reset which solved the problem for a while but now back with same issue.

Also I see lot of people talking about the Navcore... but I don't seem to find it back on my TT. In which folder should I search?

And where to find new bootloaders for TT ONE XL.

Sorry for all the questions.

You can give the next procedure a try.
The time reset till 00.00 and there is no solution for it
but the GPS reception is alright.
2 options:
You have to live with it or buy another device.

After all your device is more than 10 years old.

Poteo maps
maps-v1xxx/worldwide-coverages-and-search-t20675.html

*) Recommended Navcore 9.541 device
[Please Register or Login to download file]
--
1) Make a backup of your Device and delete the content.
--
2) Unpack the* navcore (winrar ) and place folders and files on your Device.
--
3) Reset The Device (minimal 15 sec) and start it till the announcement "No map found"
--
4) Copie the chosen map to your Device in his own folder.
If you open the map you see the individual files and probably a folder (brand).
Not a map in a map.
(plain map no speedcams,poi,etc)

How to read the chart.

--
5) Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your device
http://www.navitotal.com/viewtopic.php?f=127&t=19452

Run "FastActivate.exe".
Select 1
After 1 go to the root Device and rename the file
Updated_meta in
meta
Select 2
Done.

6) Give a 15 sec reset and start the device if everything works fine
just then you can ad speedcams etc to the map

We like to hear the result Good or Bad.
And keep away from TomTom Home.

New bootloader is not needed.
