Yes but he has 9.026 running and i have the same 64mb ram as him and can get 17 + mb free ram when following a route, so i still think it best off he starts from fresh

If the contents of the hard drive have not been deleted, I would like to know how much free space is available on it. With the 910 connected to the computer, this info can be seen by opening Windows Explorer, right clicking on the 910 drive letter & left clicking properties.

Yep, & I noted that in post 44. Do the math. 20 - 9.5 = 10.5GB in use. I want to confirm that his 9.5 quote is correct. If so, then what is using 10.5GB?

You may be correct, But that 20gb could be around 18.5 gb as you never get the full space on a hard drive or memory card to use, so that leaves 9GB he could have a few maps loaded ? i dont know lets see what he sais when he gets back to us, I said earlyer on to him does he have a load of mp3s or pics loaed but he said no so dont know what else he could be storing on there, per we await your reply

But that 20gb could be around 18.5 gb as you never get the full space on a hard drive or memory card to use.

Yep, I'm aware of that. My 2GB is actually 1.91. But that is irrelevant here.

The 20 GB hard disk as tomtom
But as is the explorer of 18.6 gb (which said djc)
14.9 It is free.
Use 3.64 gb.
I have no mp3 music or pictures.

I try it tomorrow.
Think it should work.
There are many icons that are twice the unit, which perhaps slows
It was enough when the trouble with my update =)
A great big thank you to DJC151084 & Tendriver without you I never would fix this.
I try to do this tomorrow so I will return if the causes trouble or how it was =)

3.69GB is way too much memory used & not have mp3s or pix, unless you have several maps. The largest 850 map that Navitotal has posted is 2.21GB. Navcores average 30 to 40MB. That leaves you with almost a full GB of unexplained memory use. I would look for the reason, before I deleted and started over. If you post a screen shot of the 910 contents, djc or I might see the problem.

You do have folders and files on there that you might not need but Still i think you should do a clean install, as i have previously said

Should I format the TomTom GO 910 hard disk?
Or should I take the files from the tomtom home program?
Welding must reformat to get rid of everything?

Formatting is not essential, you can just open the drive in windows explorer and delite the entire contents, then follow my guide i gave you in a earlyer post to re-install, Make shure you take a full backup with windows explorer before you delite anything

SE_ttsystem.9.051.503855

Before you delete, try installing this navcore. Copy both the .cab files & SE ttsystem files to the root of your 910, overwriting any common files. If this navcore is no help, then no harm done.
You can then delete & start from scratch.
