Can the v1015 Maps be used on a Go520?

Yes, with the appropriate meta codes when they get released in the not too distant future...see the tutorial:

The reason for the query is that back when i was running v9.5 maps i got a letter from TomTom stating that they were changing the format of their maps and that they would no longer work on the Go520. Is there any substance in this or just a marketing ploy to get people to buy new satnavs ( that cant use your maps).

Well it's true that they are slowly making all of their older NAV 2 devices 'end of life' now which forces people to buy one of their newer unhackable units, but they are still producing maps for the older devices which will work across the whole range...we don't know how long that will last though. Your Go 520 will continue to be able to use new maps until they stop producing them.
