Look for the mapsettings.cfg file in your old map folder. Copy & paste it into your new map folder.

But do not copy a mapsettings.cfg from a v6 or v 7 map to a v8 map it will cause start up problems ;)

If you encounter a start-up problem after copying a mapsettings.cfg file to a new map folder, correct this issue without loosing your
favorites by connecting your device to TT Home and use "operate my Go" to manually add a favorite of your choice.
Exit and restart your TomTom which now has a rewritten "mapsettings.cfg" file.
If this corrects the issue, you can delete the newly added "dummy" favorite.
