Fastactivate ?

Thu Nov 22, 2012 8:02 pm

Hi - Is there an issue with downloading Fastactivate ? All I can get is the following message...

"Lieber Kunde,

wir führen kurze Wartungsarbeiten durch.

Wir sind gleich wieder für Sie da. "

and as I don't read/speak (presumably) German ... It doesn't mean much to me. I've tried 3 browsers - same result with all.

It occurs to me tho' ... the maps are stored on FF ... if FF is good enough for maps, why isn't this also stored there?

UPDATE: Woohoo! Finally got it.... amazing D/l speed... only took 20 mins for a 3.7mb file.. how DO they do it? Makes my 120Gbps f/optic line SO worth the money.

Cheers anyway TD ... it's just a 'not so good' d/l site I guess.

Lowest restriction for Uploaded is 60kb/s during peak hour traffic for free user on a free account.
Anything below that is a problem at users end.

The problem is DEFINITELY not at the user's end! I had no problems downloading maps from FF during the same period with speeds of over 1Gbps, in fact I downloaded Europe, North America & several others, complete in around 15 minutes - had to wait for some mapfile segments which are stored on a particularly busy server of theirs. A few moments later, I tried to get the newest Fastactivate - the results are documented above. Yes, Td, I'm serious.

I did a bit more testing after my post 4. Never got as far as a slow download. I kept getting the good old "no free slots are available" message.
