Downloaded USA/Canada 960.7056 installer instead of basic map [SOLVED]

Downloaded the auto installer version by mistake. Is there a way to use this with fast activate or do I have to download basic map?
Is there a disadvantage to using the autoinstaller instead of using fast activate?
Would rather not go through the download process again. Thanks for your help

1. Just run the installer. IT will patch the map for you using built-in FastActivate.
2. None at all. FastActivate is going to patch the map, whichever way you do it.

Ran the installer but unit says this map cannot be used on this device. There is no .dct file in the map folder. Did I miss a step?

We're assuming you've downloaded the right map for your navcore as you haven't said which navcore you have on your device. Remember that every map is navcore specific not device specific.

Ok, download FastActivate from [Please Register or Login to download file] and extract it to the root of your device.

Then run FastActivate.exe on your device and choose options 2 then 3

Now disconnect and try it again...if you still have problems, you've downloaded the wrong map

When I download Fastactivate there are two Part 1 Does it matter which I use?

Finally succeeded. Updated FA from within FA and then it worked. Not sure why original file didn't work

Maybe your original FA didn't have the meta data contained within it, updating it will fix that
