Cannot use this map on this device

Postby kaybee327 » Tue Jul 27, 2010 11:39 am

On TT One V3.

Updated navcore to 8.562 and uk & Ireland maps v 850.2871.

Downloaded and used fastactivator on maps - ttsystem - Home , all reported as patched OK

When operating TT get the dreaded 'you cannot use this map with this device'

Also TT Home says I am using an illegal navcore?

Any suggestions please

Did you use the SE ttsystem ? if you did, did you also patch it, as SE ttsystem files are pre-patchd and this could cause such errors, download and copy all files from this .rar to your root dir.
SE_ttsystem.8.562.438269.rar
also confirm you have the .dct in the map folder

Thanks guys.

Still no luck with 8550.2781

content of map folder in attachment 2781.jpg and root files in root.jpg

TT Home gives me official 850.2820 which install OK but does not contain cspeech or alg which is what I was after.

More ideas please folks :clapping_mini::clapping_mini:

"When operating TT get the dreaded 'you cannot use this map with this device'" - This is a sign of ttsystem or map not patchd now i can see your map is patchd so you need to use a pre-patchd ttsystem file and pndnavigator file from the SE .rar above

Ok to fix the wrong version error you need to do the following
Change lines 9 + 10 in ttgo.bif to read Latest officiall navcore for your device (if you want to know the figures please ask and i will tell you)
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=????
ApplicationVersion=????

3.Save the file as ttgo.bak
4.Reboot your device
5.Connect to tthome and that error should not show up now

Again thanks guys.

app works fine, tthomw works but still no map 8502781- DCT file in folder and fastactivate says patched.

When I start TT Home checks for updates and offers 850.2820 whic is the latest map I purchased. Also in manage device shows 1 map installed Yup it's 2871:doh:

Got me beat

To patch tomtom home
 • you must connect to tthome choose button "Operate my device" tthome will now offer to download a package of files amongst these is the file you need to patch.
 • when downloaded close tthome and download FastActivate 1.2
 • run the keygen from your pc and choose "Patch TomTom Home" this will now patch tthome and let you use the "operate my device" feature there is no need to patch tthome unless you want to use this emulator.

DJC151084 many thanks.

Guess I am Jinxed (or thick) now have another prob with Home. When I click on 'operate my device I get an error which says Error calling method on NPObject!.
According to TTSupport site this means error in user name Your Windows username contains special characters. or When clicking Operate my device HOME responds with the error Fatal Error -9000.

Neither of these cases are correct as my user name is keith- no odd characters.

Removed Home via control panel and downloaded latest from TT. Rebooted same result. Used fastactivator again on home says patched same result.

2 oddities.

Home manage my device show 1 map 850.2781.
Rebooted device clicked on version confirms navcore 8.562 and map as 850.2820

Shots 1 & 3 are correct. Can't tell about shot 2, since the app & map were not expanded.

Do you have a tthome.bif in the root of your device , if so check your username is correct in this.

[TomTomHOME]
UserName=Username Here
