Can't get 895.4438 UK&IRE map to work-Desperatly need help o

Postby stinger69 » Sun Sep 09, 2012 4:30 pm

Hi guys,

Sorry to trouble you but i am at a loss in trying to get my 895.4438 UK&IRE map to work.
I have never had a problem in getting them to work before.
My TT device is a GO540 LIVE running 9.430.890926.1 OS 842337 BOOT 5.5.120
The last map i got working was 885.4009
Is it just a case of me not having the right map for my device or i am missing something really simple.
I have installed it all on another PC and still can't get it to work, mind you when i use Fast Activate 1.8.9.0 it says it can't find TT home profile DLL not found.

Hopefully somebody may be able to shed some light on my failings or stupidity.

1. Put FA 1.8.9.0 & a copy of your 540 ttgo.bif file in the 4438 map folder & run FA to patch the map.
2. You have to download the navcore 9.430 dll before FA can patch TT Home "Operate my GO".

1. Are you referring to point 1 or point 2 in post 2?
2. Maps are navcore specific, not device specific. Navcore 9.430 is compatible with ALL 895 edition maps.
3. Are you referring to point 1 or point 2 in post 2?

Hi

Sorry for delay in replying, work got in the way.

I had done what you had said in both points.

I have since wiped all off my TT device and re-installed fresh map.
I have now been saved from the psychiatric unit as it is now working.
I must have had a corrupt map or something.

I didn't realize that i can use any 895 map on my TT GO540, i always thought that they were device specific and not Navcore specific.

Thankyou for that invaluable information.

Thanks for all your help, i really appreciate it.

Just a quick note, this map wouldn't activate for me (9.450 navcore) with FA 1.8.8.9, but it did activate with 1.8.9.0.
Just in case someone else finds this problem in the future.

In your case, FastActivate was not the problem, it was a lack of understanding of how to use FastActivate.

Hmmm, not sure where I've gone wrong there then, I used both in exactly the same way.
1889 wouldn't activate the map, 1890 would.
Must be missing something.

Yep, 1.8.8.9 does not have a current 895 map meta.txt file.
