Bootloaders and memory cards

I have been looking for the relationship between the system bootloader and the maximum memory it will support/recognise.

Is there a bootloader that supports 8 GB and 16 GB SD cards/micro sd cards ?

Is it trial and error whether a bootloader will support a particular size memory card and can vary significantly ?

I am particularly interested in GO 500 Classic , 550 live and 920 t.

I have searched the forum for a couple of days and havent really found anything conclusive.

The max card size I have been using are 4GB

Any advice appreciated.

1. Yes.
2. No.
3. TomTom model is irrelevant, except whether it has a card slot or not.
4. Surely you jest. There are at least a 100 threads on this same subject, including the 5 threads in the "Related Topics' box at the bottom of this page
