After comma part of version number

After comma part of version number

Postby abuaudu » Sat Sep 17, 2016 10:01 pm

Hello
Can anyone explain how can one know the differences between the maps of the same version number before the comma but different version number after the comma?

For example: how can one know exactly what are the differences between the following maps:

Europe North 975.7685
Europe North 975.7689
Europe North 975.7748
Europe North 975.7749
Europe North 975.7751

Many thanks

Study the chart and you know if you can use it with the navcore you have and don,t forget if there is no meta available then the map has no use.
maps-v9xx-f179/975-976-map-collections-only-t19029.html

So it means you can only use those maps.

Europe North 975.7685
Europe North 975.7748

I have Navcore 9.057 so this means that 975.7685, 975.7686, 975.7687, 975.7751 and 975.7766 are the same (regardless the matter of meta code), doesn't it?

But what I can't understand is why they are different from each other in hundreds of Megabytes if they are exactly the same map !!

Coverage is the same but they differ in map attributes like ALG or ASR.

The first thing you have to look for is there a meta code available.
No meta code means it can be used so you don,t have to bother about all those different sizes.

I mentioned it before you can only use
Europe North 975.7685 (0,97 GB) You can Use All the features if the device supports it.
Europe North 975.7748 (1,28 GB) This one has no features at all

As you can see the 7685 with all the features is smaller than the 7748 with no features at all.
This means the road coverage is in principle the same except the details can be different (water, terrain)
So there are differences but for the average user, this is not important.
So you no more then enough how further you go into the matter how more complex it gets.
Keep it simple is there a meta and support my navcore the map then I can use it.

I have looked after the next 3 maps and there is a differend in coverage.
And about the Europe North 975.7751 there is no metacode availble but you can use the code for the Europe North 975.7685 who is already
integrated in FastAktivate. So the only way these day,s is to download the map (aktivate if there is a metacode) and look witch country,s are coverages. Also you find a lot info about coverage on the forum.

Yes exactly ..When you said 975.7751 cann't be activated, it was already activated on my device so I asked myself "what! so how was I able to activate it if there is no meta code !?".
Anyway, now I removed it and installed the 975.7685 instead, because as I see it's better than the others.
Thank you very much for your help :) :)
