P1 I can confirm for the newer XL and XXL models. If you use a warning sound and the same for a POI or speedcam the device goes silent when the sound is played. Same can happen with the TTS voice of Kate, some newer Navcores only accept Susan but not Kate. On several devices the soundmodelID must match the modelID, meaning that in certain emulations the sound goes almost silent (you can just hear it at full volume when you have the speaker on your ear). So far I was not able to find out what causes this problem or how get the soundmodelID and modelID matching in all emulations.
P3 As mentioned by Tendriver, some are premium voices that needs activation, and you might have to check the .vif files and filenames - some user reported that a few voices have the same numbers and filenames like already installed voices. Might be a good idea to manually select the voices you need.

Sorry for delayed reply as I'm currently at work and impatiently waiting to go home so I can continue to fiddle - you must know how it is ;)

Thanks for the replies.

Just have the sound muting issue to resolve - is there no fix or anything I can do? Will fiddle with it some more when I get home. Kind of need it for voice instructions :(

I'm not too fussed about all the voices not appearing when going through them as I still prefer my previous voice - the standard tomtom irish lass Katherine I think her name is off the top of my head - which does work (until the muting issue)

Ah yes I did join the mapshare community but it didn't have any updates to install

and lastly I promise, TTHome also didn't have a gpsfix update. Anything I need to do to?

Personally, I would remove everything from the card except the map folder. I would load on the card my backup, except the old map folder. Then run SE_Navcore.9.205.547817_32mb_devices and point it to drive of SD, overwriting any common files.

Been fiddling and I think I resolved the sound issue by using Serena TTSVocalizer and deleting all custom sounds and just using default sounds.

However I still can't get mapshare to work, I have joined it but within it's preference I am unable to move the slider and the countries tab is blank. No mapshare option exists on the TT.

Since I updated ttgo.bak with
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
ApplicationVersion=9369

Gpsfix appeared as an update within TTHome :)

Everything is working well and I am very much appreciative for all your assistance :D

There's just one outstanding issue I am unable to fix and that's mapshare not updating.

I think it's due to the maps not being recognised either within 'Manage my One XL' or within mapshare preferences - select countries tab within TTHome

Any advice or should I just not bother and just keep updating the maps when new versions are available?

I'm a completionist so this 1 little thing is bugging me :(

2. Smoothly? Yes. Add ons are personal preferences.

3. Each navcore has it's own bootloader. It SHOULD install with the navcore. 9.205 B/L is 5.5250.

thanks for a great answer tendriver i was about to post th same question except mine is just a tt but i have installed navcore 9.2 etc and uk roi maps 860.3101 so i should have no probs with the iq routes or would you recommend a diferent map:think::D

860.3101 is perfect. It is full featured. The other 860 UK&ROI maps are half or no featured

if you are properly subscribed to mapshare, updates will become available when tomtom post them through tt home ;)

I'm afraid I didn't :angel_mini: Everything else is working excellently and it took me ages to get to this stage - at the risk of messing it up more just for mapshare I have avoided your suggestion I apologise :girl_flag_of_truce:

Was kind of hoping someone had the same mapshare issue and managed to resolve it easily

You ask for help, then don't accept it??????????????? It doesn't get any easier than that fix, which takes less than 5 minutes.

Well done! I've been absolutely fascinated reading this thread today. You've accomplished what took me several months in aggregate! I went through practically the same process with the same problems en-route! We have even chosen the same maps!
There's no doubt in my little mind that the moderators in this forum do an exemplary job. Thanks again all of you!

I also have an XL that seems to be the same as yours. However I didn't like the menu layout using navcores SE 9.205 and SE 9.051, and went back to SE 8.204 that does all that I want and it responds faster - no delays. Also I find Serena VocaliserTTS is impressive with these latest maps. I'm only left with QuickGPSfix not working with this particular setup. (It continues to work fine with other map-navcore setups on other cards). But I've learned to live with that. No mapshare problems though.

A thought...Is there a case for making this thread of yours a sticky? Maybe a family of threads showing how to update other TTs?

Best regards

1. What are your issues with the menu layouts?
2. Confirm that there is an ephem folder in the XL's root.
3. No. Plenty here: Tutorials
