A friend of mine gave me his old GO 720 because it wasn't working anymore. I'm playing with it and I got it sorta working now. At first, it wouldn't connect to my computer but I think I solved that problem because now it does. The main problem is that the touch screen wasn't working in the beginning. But after researching the web, I found some numbers for the 720 that were used in a cal.txt. The numbers I used are 929 86 480 75. At least now I have some touchscreen ability although it's not perfect in some cases. When I press a letter I need, I have to press the letter above and to the right. What adjustment do I have to make in the cal.txt numbers to fix that?
Also, I have no idea what the navcore is so I can update the maps and such. What would I have to tell or show you?

Every unit is different. There is not a magic set of numbers that can be used to re-cal a screen. I had to re-cal my 720 & after tweaking, the numbers were 935 87 460 50.
Run
TomTom Current Configuration {13.11.2011} to see the navcore version. Current for a 720 is 9.510.

Thanks. I can always try your numbers and see how it goes or return to mine. Yours aren't much different. I'm about to update the navcore. Yes! I backed up first.

2. I'm about to update the navcore
1. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
2. Download:
http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/nav...navcore-GO.cab + this pre-patched ttsystem file
 9.510 SE ttsystem.rar.
Unzip both downloads. Copy the .cab files & folders onto the 720, overwriting any common files. Copy the SE ttsystem.rar files into the 720, overwriting any common files.
Disconnect & reboot.

I ran your app and I see 9465. Is that my old navcore? BTW, I reinstalled the back up and now I have voice again.

Confirm that you did an overwrite installation & not a clean install.

OK now. I tried doing it again and now the voice works. Here's what I did. I followed your instructions again to the letter ONLY this time when I copied the files [overwriting] I noticed there were 2 ttsystem files - one in the navcore and one in SE ttsystem. I think I overwrote the SE one with the other one. I think that's why I didn't get voice. Now I have it. Plus your app now shows 9510. Just need the maps now.

Yes my friend. All [for the most part, touchscreen still not 100%] that. Are there direct links to download US, instead of jdownloader?

This is why I said in post 4 to install the .cab files & folders,
then install the SE ttsystem.rar files.

No, you either have to manually download the parts one at a time or use jdownloader, which I don't like. I prefer CryptLoad.

When I go to the main menu, navigate to, point of interest, there is now an icon that was created when I was testing the device. It is for my gym LA Fitness. I don't want that icon. Is there any way to delete it?
EDIT: Is there an option in tools on the device where I can prevent this from happening? I can't find it. I see that I can overwrite that icon if I look for another POI.
