Go 530 truck maps ? Sd card?

Postby hogan7777 » Thu Oct 28, 2010 9:23 am

Hi all its me again (sorry)
With much help from you all I have managed to put on navcore and truck maps on my Go700 (as per sig)
I have now just got a refurbished Go 530 with SD card slot and 4GB card.
I have never had a tomtom with a SD slot so here goes.
On the hard drive I have UK and RI map 830.2305 with navcore 8.351 boot 5.5120
I want to upgrade this map.
The main reason I bought it is to put Truck map and navcore onto SD card (as per my sig)
What difference is there putting maps on SD card as opposed to HD drive I have read about boot drives what is this please and how do I go about doing the above.
Thank you.

The difference is the SD card will be the default memory over the internal, when installed. Copy everything off of the 700 onto the card. Place a copy of the 530's ttgo.bif file on the card. Repatch the truck map on the card. Done!!

Thank you for your reply, when you say copy everything off the 700 do you mean the navcore or just the map.

  • Everything, copy all files from your device root to the new sd card
  • put card in new unit and switch on then off to create the required ttgo.bif file (Or copy from the internal to the card)
  • Run AutoActivate to patch the map
