GO 530 traffic

Postby medway-man » Sun Mar 23, 2014 7:47 am

For a few years I have been using an old hacked Navigo with tomtom maps from this site. Yesterday, my son gave me his TomTom GO 530 Traffic. I have two questions. Firstly, how can I install maps in this, and secondly, how can I install PGPSW speedcams?
Thanks

1. Since map coverage & current navcore were not mentioned, how do you know that a usable 925/926 map is available?
2. This is just a link to the actual thread, which is in the Sticky section at the top of this subforum.
3. Almost 18 months out of date.
4. Almost 3 weeks out of date. Current cams are in the Sticky section at the top of this subforum.

Sorry about the missing info.
Navcore version is: 8.351
Map coverage is: UK and Northern Ireland.

I think the only map that is suitable is 925.5442, so I have downloaded it and will await the meta to become available.
Having checked back in the archives through several versions, I notice that no meta has ever been posted, so does anyone have any suggestions as to any other maps that will work with navcore 8.351 and include IQ Routes + ALG.
Thanks

Personally, I'd leave your current config alone and put an SDHC card in it and install NC 9.510 to that, then use UK & ROI 925.5412 (Inc: IQ + ALG & meta IS available) with latest speedcam file...job done.

All of that is available here apart from the card itself obviously.

I agree with fredderf, except for the need of or use of a SDHC card.
Current official navcore for your 530 is 9.510.
Current official full featured UK&ROI map for your 530 is 925.5412.

Thanks to all.
Unfortunately I don't have a choice about the SD card because my 530 has a fault and wont run without the SD inserted.
So far, while the maps are downloading I simply tranfered the contents of 9.510.1-2039.CAB-navcore-GO to an empty SDHC card using a card reader and popped it in the 530. To my sirprise it actually started and got to the point of no maps found. Surely it isn't going to be this easy? :)

1. This info should have been included in your post #1 !!
2. A .CAB is not a complete navcore. May I suggest that you remove 9.510 from the SDHC card, copy your complete 8.351 setup, excluding the old map, to the SDHC card. NOW copy 9.510 back onto the card overwriting the common files & folders. Add the new map folder. Patch everything with FastActivate & reboot. DONE!!
3. It is this easy 95% of the time.

to get the latest pwgps speedcameras, it's best to pay the yearly fee (not much) then you can download updates as often as you want, every week if you feel the need.
1, make a new file on desktop and name it pwgps cam
2,download the cams from site and extract using winzip/winrar into that folder
3, copy all cam files and paste them into the truck map folder on the card
4, on tomtom .tap screen and change preferences ,follow menu till you see "manage poi"
5, when in that sub menu go to "warn when near"
6, in search type po and they will start to appear, you will have to do each one separately
7, when you get to sound/voice setting tap on the 2nd one down and then make sure "only when on route" is unchecked.
as you approach the cams it will give a verbal warnlng like "pwgps speed camera gatso 30 miles per hour 300 yards"

Can someone please advise me if the GO 530 Traffic should have spoken address entry. According to the manual it should, but the icons for that option do not appear in the menu. This is not a fault of the new update you helped me install because the option doesn't appear even on the old SD with the original navcore.
I did click the correct options on fast activate so it can't be that.
Cheers

It should have, mine does but to be honest with all the ambient noise a truck makes it's pretty useless.
