Go 500 NavCore update - confused

Postby naviboy » Tue Mar 01, 2011 11:04 pm

My son-in-law asked if I would upgrade his TT GO 500.

The current NavCore loaded is 5.201.

Yet when looking at the NavCore listings OK to use, says the current version for the GO500 is 9.054 and yet when I scroll down to this. The GO500 is not listed.

As I already have 8.410, the first listing shows the 8.410 ok to use.

So I am confused which I should use.

Any advice of which I should use with the latest maps, etc.

thanks

The current Navcore for a device is always what Home offers as an update.
Other Navcores with higher version numbers can work but there is no guarantee.
The 8.41 is ok, so all you need is a suitable map for your region.

To keep it simple, you can use the exact setup, that you have on your ONE. You only have to repatch the map folder.

TomTom One V3, Bootloader 5.5106, Navcore 8410.1218, Western_Central Europe 860.3101, 4Gb SD card

OK,

I've done a update with TT Home.

The original data on the go500:
App - 5.201 (5252/050628) OS:908
30mb Ram (free: 6.4mb)
GPS V1.21, Boot 2.18

The Updated data now on the go500 via TT Home:
App - 6.520 (7690/061002) OS:1387
29mb Ram (free: 5.9mb)
GPS V1.21, Boot 4.86

As mentioned above, I already have 8.410 Navcore, Boot 5.5106 and "Western and Central Europe 860.3101"

Although my version of Navcore and Boot is a later version than what TomTom Home updated would this be OK for the GO500.

If I used these would there be any difference in the format of the screens etc.

thanks

I see you didn't read post 3 right above your post 4. BTW, it was not necessary to update the 500 navcore (current official is 7.903), since you plan to upgrade it further.

OK thanks,

I am going to use my version, but as you say the current is 7.903. But TT Home only gone as far as 6.520.

But as I also asked, would there be any difference with the page to page display format of the TT using my version.

Thanks

1. TT Home downloads navcores in increments. You keep updating 1 navcore at a time, until you get to the current version. This is nice to know, but irrelevant.
2. If there was a difference, you would already know about it.
