chas521,

Ok thanks again for the 1.1 info and will try the maps with only .fbl file. will delete the save folder and 8.3 that you gave me works ok aprt from not seeing the GPS but have put port etc in sys.txt and will test a bit later. the final test is on the way home to see if memory problems with routing. again thanks for your help.

nabi,
yes i already have tried that in my sys.txt and deleted save folder etc and still same problem with 1.2 and 1.1 but ok so far with 8.3

danny27404,
do you mean you could not get it working with 1.1 but you got 1.2 working fine?

Thanks again everyone for your help

Brian

Did you try the port and baud numbers given by danny27404?

danny27404,

yes you are correct with the error " memory error memory 4036 cache 0"

but i think there is now a problem with my unit as i put syngic back in there today and the saying hardware problems on detecting GPS. think my unit has gone and did try a reset but nothing :( so might even have to take it out and send back as i am sure the port will be in the unit and not apart of the GPS aerial.

Thanks so much for everyones help and will get back when i fix the problem with the unit

Thanks

Brian

Ok when you get it back download my finished product and you will be all on your way :D :D try resetting the system rather than rip it out and send it back they do have a habbit of randomly breaking. my 714 every now and then refuses to detect the GPS and just a simple reset fixes it.
