This may be a dumb question from a newb, but is there any versions of IGO Primo that will work on an old Windows Mobile 6 phone?

If so, where can I find a copy??

Yes all of them do, however it takes a bit of sys.txt editing to get the display right.

But be aware some devices have problems with the GPS receiver, meaning you will experience constant GPS disconnections, there is a fix but it doesn't work on every device.

Where do I get the 'fix'.

NOTE - I did find a thread which implied it was a fix for PDA - but the downloads linked from it were no longer available - hence my question.

Do you use a preferred one that you could recommend (I run Windows 8 OS)?

There are many, I used to use utorrent, but it's full of adverts now. Try and find the windows port of transmission, it's originally a Linux application, but there is an unofficial port available.

It just downloads torrents with no fuss.

I have no idea about compatibility with windows 8 though.

I installed utorrent and am downloading now.
However there are a number of files with the names
"_____padding_file_XXX_if you see this file, please update to BitComet 0.85 or above____"

I read somewhere that this is caused by the Bitorrent update and hopefully does not mean too much - ie the download is working OK.

It'll be another 4 hours before I find out - slow country connection ;-(

I haven't bothered with torrents for a while, we'll have to see what you end up with...

If you've download the uTorrent from the [Please Register or Login to download file] , and the download is working OK, I guess it's OK.

It was the official download from their site.

However after 4 hours the download slowed to a crawl and with 25% to go is showing a time expected of 2 days to finish

Just go back to the iGO programmes sub forum and find another thread, there will be some that use hosting sites rather than torrents. Any version of primo will work, please note I never tried 2.4 on a pda.

I have a copy of Primo 2.4 which I downloaded (WinCE version) and tried on the Phone, but it would not start - returns a fatal error when starting - hence my original post here.

Will have to keep looking.

Check what's in the sys.txt, the driver option in rawdisplay caused me fatal errors once.

In [interface], you have a double entry. Extra settings=1. Delete one of the entries.
