Chas, yep I have this already I changed the exe file to the one you uploaded first of all but still the same problem.

I have been driving around and testing it out. With the English voices the only one that sometimes 20% works is the female, I have had better luck with the US female voice around 40% of the time it works.

I have looked at my speedcams and it looks like I am running 2007 cams, is it possible to point me in the direction of updated UK speedcams? could this be the problem ?

Many thanks for your continued assistance.

Slowly getting there now,(thanks for the link to cams) one last problem and then I think I am good to go. I have just added the latest premium POI's and now when I start my device I am getting the following error:

Failed to open $poi_car_rect.spr exiting application and I am getting another error about a gasstation.spr????

Basically I cannot use POI without it crashing .

Should have all the POIs you need. I don't believe you need to add anything to this [these].

If you have error messages regarding memory, it's usually that you're trying to load too much content when the device is starting up. Possible reasons: too large an area for speedcams so either delete the speedcams entirely or reduce the overall area to what you actually need, delete the .dem files [only eye candy you don't need anyway], delete the building files, TTS, too many maps trying to load, etc. The reason that I bring this up is because memory problems could affect TTS voices causing stuttering and delay.

I am not too sure that its memory, but not to worry. I am now moving over to Amigo as you said that one is better. I now have a better understanding about how all this works now and I am very intrigued by it all. Shall I start a new thread if I have questions regarding the Amigo?

YES - new thread.

BTW, did you see this - it's new. http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?4841-Working-Primo-1.2-with-TTS-from-my-device&p=33439#post33439

I have installed and tested out amigo I have 3 problems to rectify and then I will be happy.

1. The only voice I can use for TTS is annoying US susan (no offence)
2. The speed cams don't work
3. The map works if your not navigating, but if you navigate to an address the map freezes and just shows the destination, nothing more.

Can you help?

First of all, don't pick on my Susan - she's my girlfriend LOL. Changing a voice should be easy so......... Everything you need is here [I hope] http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?912-TTS-voices-and-components

1. In content\voice delete the TTS Susan voice and install Kate [UK] TTS instead. Don't unrar the voice. You don't need to change the .dlls. In the content\lang make sure that English UK is there. In content\phoeneme [spelling?] install the UK file. Hope I didn't forget something.

I PMed the rest to you.

EDIT: Almost forgot. Delete the save folder and when setting up your options don't forget to choose Kate's voice.

I also have a viamichelin x-960 [runs Windows CE.net 5.0] & am looking to install iGO on it. After reading through this thread i'm not so sure Primo is the best application to use on this device.
As the Processor is only 300MHz & it only has 64mb of ram am i correct in thinking i will probably be better off installing iGO 8.3.2 or iGO 8.3.4 to have better navigational caperbilities over Primo?
thank you for your thgts

@catsmokey

If you have Googled my device [Mio C320], you'll see that my RAM is 64MB and I put Primo 1.2 on it with no problem. Download my 1.2 program and install it on a SD card for your device. You already see that it works. If you have some doubts about Primo, that's another thing. There's also my device's iGO 8.3 in iGO programs sub-section. Just look in the general threads.

thks for coming back chas ~ i can see the ram is the same at 64mb but the processor on your Mio C320 is 400mhz & the x960 only has a 300mhz and i am not sure that primo would work as efficiently as igo 8 would for route calculations etc
thks catsmokey.

Try it. What's the worst that can happen - it won't work. As for content, just use one map for your area, no .dem files, no building files and no speedcam files.

Oh, do you have an unlock installed?

i've had my spare sd cards ready for a while to migrate to a better system ~ reading this thread has spurned me on [especially with the helpful posts from u & others in this thread thku] ~ i've downloaded the files from here & just have to choose between miopocketlite or xtyler unlock program to unlock the x-960. Reading through other threads in the forum i'm of a mind to go for igo8.3.4 [or igo8.3.2 ?? ] over Primo; as i live in the uk & travel in europe a bit & the speedcams are an important factor for me.

Marcy unlocked your device with MioPocket. See post #1 this thread.

http://www.navitotal.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?140-Mio-Device-Unlock

EDIT: Let me explain something. It's NOT that you can't use speedcams, it's just that many members put in too large an area which causes memory problems. The same thing can happen to iGO 8.3. You just might be able to use all of Europe speedcams. You just have to try and see what happens. Most memory problems occur because the device is asked to start-up with too much content. So you don't need .dem files, building files, keep the amount of maps and POIs to a minimum - try a little at a time. You may be OK.

Primo runs ok on my 299MhZ device with all content, Frame rate drops a bit when there's a lot going on on screen but it's 100% stable.
