Want to update newer map for Becker Z099

Wed Sep 01, 2010 7:24 am

Hi, everybody,

I have one Becker z099 and would like to update old map (version 2008) to newer map like NAVTEQ 2010 Q1, 2010.03 or TeleAtlas. I have no idea how to deal with IGO navigator software (I was Garmin user). From one closed threadhttp://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?2412-IGO-8.3.x.x-for-Becker-Z098&highlight=z098, I found someone solve it by using Becker_NavNGo iGO v8.3.1.128516 (SR3 - Jan 29 2010) version which is software for Becker Z201http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?950-iGO8-8.3.-%28R3-series%29-software-data.zip-branding.zip-license. I am very happy if someone can tell me how to deal with this software in detail.Which license I have to use in order update newer map and please give me some links for this new map.

Thank you very much!

If it's a (Becker) iGO build on your device (can you tell which one?), replacing the maps on your device could be all you need, depending on the license. But if the license don't support the newer maps, like in the other thread, it's best to at once update the complete program. (licenses can differ by the country where the device is sold)

You best replace everything because only replacing the license would need a newer program file and next data.zip, etc too.
FIRST BACK UP THE OLD SOFTWARE!! Then replace the old software completely, using the same folder and the same name for the .exe file.

You ask for links to the software and maps. I suppose we need to reupload the software. But which maps are you talking about? Most maps are here: http://www.navitotal.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?82-Maps-buildings-dem-POI

Hi, nabi,

I just check my Becker Z099, it is (Becker version) IGO build on my device, Information are:

Image version: R00.3.0523.0908,
Software version: 8.3.1.128516,
Map version is Full Europe Navteq 2009.Q2.

In IGO/LICENSE fold I found three license files:
Becker_Z099_EuRus@08Q3_(NQ)_#2_Z099.lic,
Becker_Z099_EuRus@08Q3_(NQ)_#3_Z099.lic
Becker_Update_without_Turkey_and_Phonemes_2009_Q2_.lic

The Becker IGO version is same as that closed thread IGO version which I gave in my first post, is it possible to update to Full Europe Navteq 2010 map with my current IGO version and current licenses? If it is possible, please give me one best full Europe Navteq 2010 map links. If it is not possible, could you give me some suggestion for the update.

Thank you for your help!

I did my very best to collect links to Europe maps in this post.
Pick your maps (Choose R3 maps) and download them
Backup your old maps and Becker program folder, just in case.
Replace the old maps with the newer maps
Try if your devices accept those maps. It is possible, but I expect not.
If it does, you are done.
If it doesn't, you have to replace both the licenses and the the exe file.
Download 8.3.1.128516 from [Please Register or Login to download file] , unrar and replace those files. In case the exefile on your device is named different, rename the igo8.exe likewise.

Hi, nabi,

Thank you for your quickly reply. I download one R3 map (Switzerland83_NT_2010.Q1_100622.fbl) and replace old map in my Becker Z099 with it. but it does not work. I guess it is licenses problem.

Now I download 8.3 8.3.1.128516 from link wich you give me, I need replace licenses flod and igo.exe file, right? Do I also need replace DATA.ZIP file with new one which I also find in download fold ?

Thank you again! lqzurich
