No voice on speedcams

Tue Aug 31, 2010 6:10 pm

Hi!
I am using Ver 8.3.2.79297 on a 800x400 double din with 128m memory. Everything works well including the speed cams showing up. The problem is I can not get any voice warnings. Do I have to have a non TTS voice in a special directory? (audio?) I remember something from the old forum but not enough to help me.
Thanks
Dick

No Dick, you do not use any voice at all. Let me explain further. When you create speedcams in iGO 8.3, as you approach a speedcam a visual picture shows up and sirens [for lack of a better word] start sounding. There is no voice. At least this is the way mine works. I think that the gurjon skin [I don't use a skin but the default only] has that ability.

My Amigo nav DOES have a voice though.

For voice warnings, you need an audio folder. Get one [Please Register or Login to download file] (scroll down). There is also an explanation how to set up.
Next you need a skin. DiMKA, Kikker, Gurjon, ... Plenty of choice.
Pick a nice one with the looks and features you want. Here are some links to skin and skin sites.

Hi!:
Sorry for the delay. Had to get the sd chip out of my wifes car to update it. I added the audio/US/ directory as suggested and added the english files. Then went in to the setup and picked the correct language voice. It now tells me the type of camera and the speed limit. For some reason, it only works with the female voice. Really easy once you know how to do it!
Thanks for your help.

No problem ;-)

By the way, thanks for informing us how it worked out. I wish more users did this !
