Updating maps on Igo primo 2.2

Mon Jun 24, 2013 4:47 pm

I have had Primo 2.2 on my Insignia ns-nav01 for probably about two years now. I noticed on my last trip to Michigan there were a couple roads that had moved and a few new ones so when I got home naturally I sought out to update the maps on my device. They are all simply named such as "US_Michigan" and so on on my device currently but the new .fbl files I downloaded from the torrent in the Maps section are all really long such as "USA_Michigan_83_NQ_2012.Q4_130313"

Will these work with mine? Should I simply rename the new maps to what my current maps are named? or can I just paste them in there and delete the old ones? I'm fairly savy with computers and what not and I realize I'm working with a quite outdated GPS system so I don't want to brick it.

thanks for your help!

You can safely replace your old maps with the new ones.Just in case something won't go as planned, move the old ones to your PC in a backup folder, move the new to the content\map folder in your Primo set up. That's all there is to it.
In case something does not work as planned, it's probably a license issue, so report back.

Primo 2.2? Look here for a list ->

But to answer your question...

If your copy of iGO is genuine then you will need to replace everything.
Otherwise you only need to replace the contents of the map and poi folder.
The filenames don't matter as iGO uses the internal name.

Make a backup first though...

Ive started backing up my maps onto my computer and I've noticed the new maps I've downloaded have FBL FSP and FDA files. All I have in my map folder is FBL. What are these other files? Why do I only have FBL?

These are all the extra features that Primo supports...
