TTS Voice Guidance Cut Short

TTS Voice Guidance Cut Short

Postby cheerful » Sat Aug 17, 2013 1:33 pm

Primo2.4 9.6.13.267029
Nuance TTS Pro
USA voice and maps

Example

"In 1 mile", should be followed by "turn right onto abc road" but not

This happens more when it's far from the turn.

Any settings that controls this?

Thanks

My suggestion for the US is to stick with my iGO8 and forget any Primo.

Primo worked great for me a year now. This is my only complaint.

Just saying. Did you always have a voice problem with Primo?

Yes. This has been a problem since day 1 using Primo with Nuance

Is there an alert on screen at the time? Because with primo it doesn't wait for one announcement to stop before the next, so it could be starting the guidance announcement which is interrupted for a warning about wet roads or similar.

The dimka skin contains an option to give guidance priority.

When I use Loquendo TTS voices with my iGO8 and Primo 1.1, I get no cut-offs. I used Primo 2.4 for awhile just to see and I saw/heard kinda the same thing you're talking about. I deleted 2.4 and went back to my 1.1. But I use my iGO8 exclusively.

Not quite sure. I think there may be some alert, not necessarily audio though.

I am using Dimka skin. Where is this option?

Thanks

I don't have my device with me, but I think it's in sound and warnings or tts pro, can't remember what the option is called but the options are guidance, warnings or warnings, guidance.

It gives either guidance priority, or warnings, depending on how it's set.

Note that I'm using 2.0 with dimka.

Was warning/guidance. Reset to guidance/warning

Will try it out

Took it for a short drive. It seems to solve the problem.

On the upper right corner, I can see icons showing up during the guidance. It must be one of the warninging, such as turn restriction or pedestrian area. There is no sound though. So I am a bit puzzled by what warning it's that's overriding the guidance.

It still plays a silent sound which is enough to stop the guidance announcements.
