If you're program does, and we are talking about the same thing, then its a download link here, that Just didn't have TTS...

After finding some TTS voice files, I tired to load them.. I could see them in the menu, but, would never play the voice. If I hit the OK button, and had a TTS selected, it would lock the GPS unit up, and I would have to hard reset it. (lucky for me, my GPS has a switch on the back of it for that).

That program you used is not mine. I'm sure it's OK but I never used it so I can't really say. Here's mine that has EVERYTHING http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?6880-Igo8-March-5-2011

Thanks for validating me. I also found that Garmin XT is the best of all but it doesn't have TTS.

^^^
It's good, I've tested it.
After all, FBF posted it so it couldn't be bad, right?

It's a nice minimal setup (480x272 only) for possibly limited systems. No TTS or anything advanced, but all can be added like any 8.3x.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

I would love to download it, but your links are no longer valid for the 2nd file.

is there a reason that so many ppl use these crappy file servers? I mean, if I save the thing to my google drive, and password protect the file itself, and then only give the link to people that ask for it, what would be the issue?

You can certainly do that.
But if you uploaded, say a portion of the files that this site makes available...something like a terabyte maybe..and then a portion of the people who download files from here accessed and downloaded....let's say a few thousand every month...and then lets say somebody somewhere (like the copywrite owner of your files) did not like what you were doing, I wonder what Google would do with your account?
Get the picture?
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

And would the copywriter owner not call you a second Kit Dotcom?

Plus, let me add this. You make it sound like it's an inconvenience to you to try and download something that you're getting for free. But it's someone else that has to upload it to keep the links fresh and that takes time. Just know, that it's the final upload host that deletes the file so NO MATTER what one does, it's going to die at some point even if you PM for the link. Even if we were to keep the initial program on a flash drive or somewhere it has to be re-uploaded.

Yea, I understand all that.. Maybe, its because I'm like a kid in a candy store right now. Finding all the new things that work, and what doesn't. I love it!

As for the IGo with TTS.. got it working.. and it does a really nice job. had to remove sys.txt from my igo folder, strange, but, it works.

Thank you to everyone that has answered questions so far.. And, sorry to ask about the upload sites. Everything running again.

Glad to hear that. What program version are you using?

Looking at the About Screen, its NavNGo Igo 8 8.3.5.183522

Its a bit slow at getting the spoken directions out, but, I think that has to do with the GPS, and nothing with the program..

I don't understand about removing the sys.txt. What's the story? Because you removed the TTS section [?] might be a reason you're getting a delay of sorts.

I found the issue.. It had to all do with the Folder selection..
For some reason, %folder% didn't translate on this GPS.. I removed it, and everything has worked just fine.
I also had to change the screen resoluation to 480-272, and that worked.. I think I can move it to 480-320 without issues.
But for now.. thats where I'm at.

Everything working fine now.. Even the TTS is a bit better, after putting Q4 maps on, and adding that modified sys.txt.
I also found a 2gig 60x SD card laying around, and copied everything to it.

Glad to hear that things are better now but I'm still confused. MY program is setup for resolution 480_272 so what did you change and to what? Never heard of 480_320. Is that correct?
