Sys (txt) Configurator for iGo/Primo--new version 1.2

Postby Yurbuh Tuggly » Fri Jun 10, 2011 8:20 am

Requirements:
Windows PC with .NET framework installed

Newest Version 1.2 with Multi-Language (English, Spanish, French) and many other improvements.
Due to some bug fixes, if you have a previous version, please delete it and download/use this one.

Excellent tool for modifying or checking the syntax of lines in sys.txt for either iGO 8.x or Primo 1.x
To create a new sys.txt, open program, click File > New. Select the category, and mark the options you want. Continue with other categories as desired. Then click "Create sys.txt" button. Save it where you like.
You can also load an existing sys.txt for modification by clicking File > Open, and browse to your sys.txt file.

Please note that an excessively long sys.txt is not recommended. Do not check every possible option!
Many options are the defaults that come from data.zip and to repeat them all in sys.txt will do nothing except to make the navigation program load slower.

ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

There are device specific .ini files in Data.zip\Config\Devices if you have the [device] entry in sys.txt set, Other than that there is Data.zip\Project_Config\igo9.ini.

But it's best to keep the sys.txt as short as possible, only use it to correct problems otherwise it increases the loading time and can lead to other problems.

If you get the error message...

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135) Click on OK to terminate the application."

Then you need to install the .NET framework...

Also, in addition to what FBF said, check in your Save folder, the file system.ini. Anything that is already in that file does not need to be repeated in sys.txt.
There may be some duplication--leave those alone--system.ini is created by iGO/Primo on the fly from data.zip, sys.txt, and other processes within the program that determine correct settings.
Note: it may be very dangerous to edit or change system.ini--don't do it! Unless you really know what you are doing!

I have just seen a post on systemppc.com saying V1.2.1 is now out (dated 4 days ago) but there is no link for download.

Ok thanks but I never change system, ini only sys.txt but which setting has priority as with some features are off "0" in system.ini but on "1" in sys .txt.

Also new primo with dimkas skin has a user settings save/restore folder which operates auto on exit if required and stores all that is in save folder also so can not see the reason for both.
