Solved!!! Toyota RAV4 Advent running iGO 8 or primo no soun

Postby gps_guru » Tue May 07, 2013 12:43 pm

I've being reading, testing and trying without luck.

All the files are downloaded from this site

I installed iGO on my advent OE OTORAV1 for a Toyota RAV4, I used iGo-Primo 2.4 9.6.13 Complete from Y.T. and also tried chas521 and mikyhouse55. the gps works as expected, i receive no errors or any problem EXCEPT no sound or voice guidance. i installed the TTS files and/or TTS PRO files and i am getting no sound but radio is working fine

I went through the whole nine yards with volume setup, put all the options on high and still nothing.

but if i put my original map from horizon nav back on, the voice guidance works without problems.

original sd card can be downloaded here: [Please Register or Login to download file]
the file is 2.8gb

could it be the igo nav software cant interact with the Advent firmware? i want try few more test before i spend the money on new map from [Please Register or Login to download file]

Thanks to everyone for this great site.

Did you read this thread? It took awhile but the sound problem was also corrected.

Do you have the original SD? if yes use the original sys.txt and data.zip, if not do the following:

1. Add your device name to device section in sys.txt, it will be something like this:

[device]
sdcard_name="SDMEM" ;make sure your sd card name is SDMEM.
type="Audiovox_USA_OE"

2. open your data.zip with winrar (version 4.01 or earlier) then open config then devices and make sure the file "Audiovox_USE_OE.ini is present, if yes double click on it and add the following:

[sound]
std_muting_device_needed=1
app_message_start="NAV_VOICE_GUIDANCE"
app_wparam_start=1
app_message_stop="NAV_VOICE_GUIDANCE"
app_wparam_stop=0
effect_muted=1
use_os_volume=1

save the file within winrar.

if this file does not exist drag and drop it from the original data.zip to the same location.

this solution apply to primo 1.xx or later, I dont know if it will work with iGo8.

Original SD card never had a sys.txt cause its not iGO. it uses HorizonNav software.

I will follow the steps in your post as soon as i go home from work.

I will post back with updates

I am taking all the ideas now and executing them later

Well, as a follow up, I created a file named Audiovox_USE_OE.ini in the data.zip file and i still have nothing but silence from the HU, i dont know what else to try?

If i put the files from the link i posted above i dont have no problems. i am leaning toward a software-hardware linkage

where did you put the file? it should be in data.zip\config\devices.

did you add the text I posted to sys.txt?

Try the attached one, uncompress and drag and drop it in its location.

I suggest to update your firmware from advent website, it is free.

You have to add the device name in your sys.txt as posted in post #4 exactly as follows:

[device]
sdcard_name="SDMEM"
type="Audiovox_USA_OE"

I assume your sdcard name is SDMEM. if not change it to whatever its name is.

make sure no other device name is present in sys.txt.

I suggest to use simple voice first just to be sure that the sound work, then you can change it to TTS or TTS pro.

furat52, MILLION thanks for the help!

it worked! i am really excited!

I went with a stripped version of igo primo 2.4 (9.6.13.267029), base files and nothing else, copied the file you mentioned to /data.zip/config/devices and the lines in the sys.txt and VOILA "have a nice day"

here is the info in my sys.txt file:

;"
[device]
sdcard_name="SDMEM"
type="Audiovox_USA_OE"

[debug]
max_memory=40000000
reserve_memory=1500000
cache=2048
;"

Thanks again and thanks to all the members in this forum for their dedications to helping other members. :grouphug:

now time to see if any tts file will work but 1st i need to back up my sd card.
