Setting to adjust lag, setting in iPhone not win CE.

Sun Nov 11, 2012 8:56 pm

In iGO world for iPhone etc there is a setting to change gps lag by up to 2 seconds.
It would be great to have the same for Primo for Win CE.

Anyone have any knowledge of this?
ie. where the setting 'may' reside.

I know if you are using windows mobile you can use gpsmoddriver to adjust lag (+ a million other options), but I've never seen an equivalent programme for windows ce.

Not sure if this is what you want, but parameter can be added to the sys.txt file - e.g:-

[gps]
delay="125"

Where delay value is in milliseconds.

If you use sysconfigurator v 1.2.1, to create your sys.txt file it has preset values of 125, 250 and 500, but I think you can use other values if you want.

Interesting.
I wonder if its the same thing.
I also wonder what it does, ie moves point forward or backward by the setting.
Cant see why it would go back as I'm all gps's would have some lag.

I think it is to counteract delays in processing the GPS signal.

Therefore, if you are finding that your sat nav shows you say 10m before a junction but in real time you are actually at the junction, using a delay should correct this error, by "moving" your car forward along the road.

I think it is trial and error to get the right value.
