Mayong... what have you done to try and fix the problem? Have you tried using google and searching for what port it needs to be set to? Have you looked around the net for other people with the same phone using the same navigation software and read what they have done? I ask because you ask these extremely general questions that honestly make it seem like you want to do nothing to find the answer yourself.

Here is a thought... assuming you are using the right port and baud settings, have you tried going outside to see if you get a signal? I can assume your baud and/or port settings are wrong, however it seems you haven't done any looking yourself to see what they should be. Just once try typing in "igo8 and HTC whatever model phone you have" into google and see if maybe your answer is just that easy to find.

So primo is running?
For a first gps fix, set GPS to autodetect, go outside, see you have clear view to the sky and WAIT!!

Have you updated QuickGPS?

Settings -> System ->GPS, Will tell you what port and baud rate you need, Make sure Manage gps automatically is ticked.

mayong, I understand iGO is running without any problem on your htc but not on your 2DIN
I give you some ways to find gps port and baud on a 2DIN.
But first - before doing anything else !! - delete the save folder!

1. When you know the GPS settings of your device, goto (in advanced mode) menu - settings - gps settings - enable gps, tap on Port to change to the desired port number, tap on BaudRate for the desired baud rate.

2. When you don't know (or you are wrong) just tap on autodetect (disable GPS, then below at right is autodetect) and wait. Be patient, because this can take a while.

3. A way to find out the port and baud:

GPSScan_debug.exe is a small tool from the Miopocket Tronik utilities. It does seem to run standalone(at least on a wince gps) and did find the port, baud rate, and protocol of my GPS. So if you need a "tool" to find your gps port, you might want to give GPSScan_debug.exe a try.

Thanks to dohcacr for this excellent tool.

4. A possible cause is using an external GPS antenna on a 2Din. You have no choice but trying to list a bunch of port and baud settings as described a few lines up. Start logically with the first one, then wait, then try another setting and wait, etc... until you finally hit the right one. Try to set the baud rate as high as possible.
A tip: many NOT all) 2DIN GPS devices have PORT=2 and BAUD=4800 or 9600.

5. Is there any program that is running (maybe you don't know) and is using GPS antenna? Because then the antenna is occupied and iGO cannot use it!

6. You should consider the GPS antenna being connected wrong or a hardware failure
