Primo turn restrictions & other n00b questions.

Postby HiroboFreak » Sun Sep 25, 2011 6:41 am

Hi guys,

Is there any way to show restricted turns in iGO Primo?
eg: To show "No Right Turn" streets etc.

My old iGO 8 used to show them but Primo doesn't.

Thanks in advance.

Are you using Navteq or Teleatlas maps?

Under Settings>Visual Guidance, do you have Turn Restrictions set to Always?

I don't have the "Turn Restrictions" option at all.

Hmmmmm. That may be skin-related then.
Here is the skin I am using, and I have that option (amongst many many other options and enhancements):

I'm using the standard skin as a personal preference.

I was hoping there'd be some way to show turn restrictions with a sys.txt command.

In that case, you may be limited to the "Standard" display.
These were the sys.txt settings for iGo8, but I very much doubt they would work in any version of Primo:
[warning.driveralert.settings]
show_cat0="1"
show_cat1="1"
show_cat2="1"

Hmmmm OK.
I might give the skin you suggested a try.
I have it installed but I don't think it's configured correctly (can't find iGO.exe when trying to use the Map Changer)

I'll have a play & see if I can get it sorted out.
Where's the config file for that skin usually located?

If you installed the skin according to the instructions, you should have a folder under {Primo} called Utility. This is where all the Mapchanger stuff should be. Edit Utility.ini inserting your correct paths and file names. You also need to add the additional map, poi and building folders under content (map_nt, building_nt, etc) with the associated !map_*.txt files within the maps folders in order for the Mapchanger to work correctly. No additional sys.txt entries should be needed.
Keep in mind you can disable many things within the skin display options (various toolbars, etc) if you would prefer the Map Display to look as standard as possible. As you change options within the skin, many are written to the Primo Save folder in various places. There is no one master config file as far as that goes.

OK thanks I'll muck around a bit.

I got the iGO.exe thing sorted out (wrong filename)
I originally installed from another person's backup & all map folders, !map_*.txt files & content seem to be there, however when I switch maps & check current map, it hasn't changed. Still Teleatlas :|

Is there anyway to remove the BlueTooth icon from the startup menu?
Mine is a 2din unit & has it's own BT system built in.

Then something is still wrong with paths, folder names, or txt files.
If you are currently using Teleatlas maps, then that folder should simply be called "Map". Only the others should have the "_*" appended.
Same with building and poi folders.

Primo is detecting that Bluetooth hardware is available. If you click that icon, you can point it to your systems' Bluetooth application (one time setup), or just ignore it.
Or you can just skip the startup menu altogether and go directly to the map view by adding to sys.txt:
[interface]
extra_settings=1

Restart, click Settings(More>Settings>)>Extra Settings> tick Skip Navigation Menu
Then the Bluetooth Icon will never bother you again. :)

How do I find out if my system requires \SDMMC or \SD or \Storage Card directory path? Would it be \Storage Card or \Storagecard ??
Sorry for all the n00b questions.

Yes, it could be any of those, or something slightly different. Sp ace may be significant.
The easiest way is to run a File Manager such as Total Commander, or anything that may already be there on the device that shows files and drives--this will show what the SD Card is known as internally, and therefore what you should use in paths.

Not a problem...glad to help.
