Primo Remember last location

Primo Remember last location

Postby pballernyc » Thu Dec 23, 2010 5:02 pm

Is there anyway for Primo to remember the last location it was at after waking up from suspend/sleep mode? It seems after my device wakes up, it takes a little bit to acquire the gps signal. I would like my device to start-up remembering it's last know gps location.

Thanks

All three of my Primo devices already do this.

What does your device show before a GPS lock is acquired?
Currently sleeping...

What happens is when your device is put to sleep, it loses contact with the SD card and thus since it wasn't shutdown correctly the save folder doesn't get all the information it needs to remember. When you wake-up the device, the program and thus the information has to be re-established again.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!

Oh I see... Igo Primo does run off my SD card... so if it ran off flash, it would remember the last location? But is there a way for primo to remember it's last location while running from the SD card?

This is my advice and knowledge. Take it for what it's worth. It is better to run everything off the SD card. You have more control of what is going to happen. Yes, I know of members who put the nav program on the internal flash drive and put the contents on the SD card. However, unless you are 110% sure of what you are doing, deleting anything from the internal drive can only lead to a possible bricking of your device. Remember, the files/folders put on the internal drive by the manufacturer are put there so the device can start up properly. Yes, the path can be changed but I recommend not to do it. Unlocks are OK but remember anything should be backed up first.

Sorry, but I don't know of anything that can make Primo remember it's position when put to sleep. As far as I know, it requires a proper complete shutdown.

Just consider Primo is developed for certain PNA devices and as the native GPS program.
Now since many Primos are not native installed the hardware is the flaw, the i/o speed, the r/w speed of the sd cardreader, ...
