Newbie

Postby nissbird » Mon Apr 14, 2014 2:06 pm

Hello, I'm new to this forum and am a complete novice with Nav software. I have purchased a Chinavision 4.3" Motorcycle Sat Nav which has the following spec:
Win CE6.0
128MB
480x272
4GB internal + Micro SD
No GPS software

I think I should load IGO 8 for europe, but advice from you guys would be really appreciated.
Can anyone help me?

If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

Does this link include a torrent program or should I install qbittorrent first?

It is direct. Not a torrent.

The upload by chas521 is the download of a GPS program (without maps) and minimal number of languages/voices.
The file provided by Yurbuh Tuggly is a torrent file, meaning you should have a torrent client (e.g. µtorrent, bittorrent, ...) installed. It's complete with all possible languages, voices, skins, etc.

Did you buy the Motorcycle sat nav to use on a bike or only as it was cheap? Reason I ask is if like me you have to wire in a power supply make sure it runs constant live. I had mine wired with the ignition and the sat nav would turn of when you stop for fuel or whatever. OK you can cancel this but you tend to lose that option by the time you take the gloves off.

Also a Newb and also looking for next steps. I went to this page http://www.navitotal.com/maps-buildings-dem-poi-f82/canada-tomtom-teleatlas-for-2013-t15430.html to download the Canadian content. Do I click on the links underneath "Hidden Content (for members only)"? If so, ALL those links seem to be broken. Please help! Thanks.
