Then you have been very lucky. Winrar is better for this. Take my word for it.

I am so frustrated! :dash3:

I redid things again following letting WINRAR unzip part 1 and 2 on it's own and it is STILL doing the same thing. gets to MAIN SCREEN LOADING( last one before START )and then crashes...

1st error =
FFUI ERROR
Unknown object identifier
Identifier = [vIsInUSA]
Script "[unnamed]" Command 0

I have to hit ok a bunch of times for that to go away and then I get another message

2nd error=
IGO8
Failed to open file:
ui_ig08/common/ui/truck.ui
Exiting application

Sorry guys. If it is me I don't know what I am doing wrong???? I am doing everything you say to do and I keep getting that same set of errors no matter how I extract the files.

You extracted both parts and created a single folder/files in the computer. Then you took that single files/folders from 1 and 2 and copy [not extracted] them to the navigation folder on your SD card. Yes?

as alredy mentioned with winrar you should extract only part1 and you should get an uncompressed folder size of 474 MB for FamilyPicnic with 11.485 files and 110 folder in it .

That is what I have now that I figured out WINRAR was doing part 2 right at the end...

Those are both data.zip errors. Something is faulty in the upload or download.
When all fails, it's better to start from scratch.

[Please Register or Login to download file] is a naked and minimal 8.3.5.231128, only English, no TTS, no content except a basemap, very minimal sys.txt. We can add the rest later.
Download it (one part, 37MB) unrar and place it on the SD. Then run without changing anything and report back.

Edit: Sorry, My mistake. Do change the names of folder and exe file so they match the original !!

  • Downloaded FamilyPicnic part1.rar & part2.rar to desktop from your other thread links
  • Created a folder called navigation on my desktop( my radio looks for that not IGO8 )
  • Used WINRAR to extract part1.rar into navigation folder
  • WINRAR extracted part2.rar at the end of part1 to the same folder on it's own
  • Made required edits to sys.txt and renamed IGO8.exe to navigation as needed
  • Added NH Map, POI, and USA.dem to appropriate folders
  • Verified that the 800_480 folder is in the 3 required ui_igo8 folders
  • Verified that the common and icons folders are in the 2 required ui_ig08/800_480 folders
  • Copied navigation folder from desktop and loaded it onto a blank SD card
  • Insert into radio and try = crash

Did you copy common into the branding.zip as well?

EDIT: Your SD card for iGO8 should look like this except for your device:

Guys, please.
Do not confuse gsthunder.
Let him start again and let him do it calmly. Do not press him to keep trying that one download that is going wrong from the very beginning for whatever reason!

I didn't copy it because it is there in the ui_ig08 folder like you asked earlier. No icons folder in BRANDING though.
