Naviextras warning message

Postby bigballs5 » Wed Sep 19, 2012 11:12 am

When I boot up I get a message saying
"Naviextras warning message"
The device connects to a server different from the NE live server!!!

Can I stop this from poping up everytime I turn on my gps?

Can you post the contents of your sys.txt file?
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

In the ..\license folder is a folder named server_configs.
Try deleting that folder.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Ok . I delete the server config , but the message still pops up when booting, and it puts the sever config folder back into the licence folder. These are the other files in yhe license folder

That may mean it is something buried within data.zip that is auto-creating that folder...or maybe it is one of the license files.
I have that particular distribution downloaded, but have not tried it or looked at it much...no reason for me to.
Sometimes these 'custom' interim builds may act 'funny' when put on devices they were not originally intended for.
Here is where/what that particular release was designed for:
[Please Register or Login to download file]
That is a whole lot of licenses in your license folder (it comes that way). No doubt not all of them are required, and one or more may be trying to connect to a server somewhere (and producing the error), but it would be trial and error to figure out which, if any.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Please try to add to your sys.txt file

[network]
available=0

I believe the problem should go away.

PS: I assume that you do not need to connect to the internet.

You just have to create it. Just create a simple .txt file and add these two lines. The file should be in the folder where the file Primo.exe (or Primo2.exe or however it is named) is.

If you want error-free, proven, tested, and fully supported programs get them from here:
Programs
If you want to be a pioneer and go for the latest (sometimes meaningless) "Number Build", from JoeAnybody, there is nothing wrong with that, but you may be on your own if Joe (from wherever you got it from) cannot answer your questions.
But try what mpourdas suggested...it may work.

Dear YT, honestly, I use your version, but I had the very same problem. At least it worked from me. I think it has also been mentioned by another member recently in another thread.

I find this somewhat curious.
It's 'my' build, I use it every day (pretty much), I have never had any messages about connecting to any server, and I do not have anything in sys.txt referencing any network settings at all. In fact, my sys.txt is seven lines total (including headers) so it is as close to 'nothing' as possible on my device.
So I must conclude that something like that Network message is very device-dependent, or something was added Content-wise to cause it.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.
