MAP files on other disc/card

Postby werner1963 » Wed Feb 01, 2012 8:20 pm

I would like to store the MAPs to another disc.
The whole program "primo 2.0" is running now on the ResidentFlash

I moved the contens of the folder "MAP" to my 16GB SDMMC card.

I have made a folder IGO2 and a supfolder MAP
..\IGO2\MAP

What do I add more in the SYS.txt file
-
[Folders]
map = "SDMMC\IGO2\ map"
-
I thought that this was the solution but i'm getting the message that primo can't find the MAPs

Was that space intentional?

Why not put the whole content folder on the SD card and use this instead...

[folders]
content="\SDMMC\Content"

Also, are you sure that "SDMMC" is the correct name for the SD Card according to your system?
If you have used it successfully in a path before, then it is...otherwise, it could be something else.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Here are a list of all [folders] options...
[folders]
app="Storage Card\Primo"
content="Storage Card\Primo\content"
map="Storage Card\Primo\content\map"
kmlpoi="userdata\poi"
kmlroute="userdata\route"
has_secondary_root=0

So try this...

[folders]
map="\SDMMC\iGO2\Map"

Obviously check the SD card is actually called SDMMC.

This is working 'I moved the whole content folder to the SD card'

[folders]
content="\SDMMC\Content"

So I know for sure that the sd card is called SDMMC

This line won't work -------- map="\SDMMC\iGO2\Map"
or maybe i'm still doing something wrong

Thanks to all of you.

By default, if you're running it from internal disk, igo/amigo/primo looks for extra content on folder igo/content on SD card. Just create igo folder on Sd card and on the igo folder, create a sub-folder content. On the content sub-folder, create more subfolders - map, poi, etc, and put extra content accordingly.

Don't put anything on the sys.txt's [folders] section so that igo/primo would use this default location for extra content.

Hi Guys,

Have a hyundai i30 from 2009 thats never been updated so I am trying to find a way to update the built-in gps. Everything is on a SD Card, but unfortunately the GPStar has no updates from 2012. So I downloaded iGO primo 2.4. and put that on a SD card and it works. However, I do not know how to get iGo to find the maps that I have found - Navteq Europe, thought that was the right maps for iGO primo.

I also see a lot of talk about sys.text file or just creating subfolders.

So to the questions;

Which maps fit with iGO 2.4...can i use Navteq maps?

How do I make iGO Primo 2.4 able to show/find the maps on the SD card?

I am very new at this so getting this explained like to a 2 year old would help a lot :-)

Thanks in advance.

Hope you guys can help out.

Yes, any iGO map from the iGO map section.

Put the '.fbl' files in the 'Map' folder and the '.poi' files in the 'POI' folder, If you have a version of Primo 2.4 from this site that's all you do.

Had not seen the folder with content and thereunder the subfolders of map and POI so I had copied the maps into wrong location.

This is great.

Thanks a lot for your help.
