Losing my voice

Thu Mar 08, 2012 11:21 am

Well at least my speed camera TTS voice on Primo 2 that is. After reading this forum ove rteh past couple of months I am really happy with my primo 2 setup. And that included sppedcam verbal notification. But for some reason it has recently stopped although all other TTS functionaility is working. I am not aware of making any changes either.

This is the content of my current SYS.TXT, anyone got any ideas:

Settings / Alert point settings / Voice warnings

Is the green speaker icon displayed by all the alert types?

Don't know if maybe the above was a slip of the copy/paste, but all sys.txt entries should have a heading above the commands.
The correct syntax for the above would be:
[debug]
skip_eula=1
experimental_features=1

This doesn't have any use in Primo, only iGO8.

[dynamiccompressor]

aO=56806
thrs=24703
ratio=10
gain=12

On the [speedcam category:x] section of sys.txt, you would notice that there is warn_distances entry that consist of a series of number pairs separated by commas. The number pair are separated by a colon (:). On the left side of the colon is the threshold speed and the number to the right of the colon is the distance to the speedcam. When your car is within the distance, and you drive faster than the threshold speed, you would get the speedcam alert, otherwise you will not get an alert. Try changing all the threshold speed values to 0 (meaning you always the alert when you get within the specified distance) and see if you will now get the alerts. Speed unit is km/hr and distance unit is in meters even if you set your distances to miles/yards in regional settings.

I think it might do something. When I removed it the TTS voice doesn't play loud over any background noise i.e. radio, music. But if present the background noise is lowered and the TTS is clear

Right then I've made a few enhancements on this.

Changed SYS.TXT to:

[warning]
is_spoken=1
speedcam_warning=1
speedlimit_warning_visual="1"
speedlimit_warning_voice="1"
speedlimit_warning="1"
speedwarn_alt_tolerance="100"
speedwarn_tolerance="100"
overspeed_sound="!msg"
speedcam_soundtype_0="2"
speedcam_soundtype_1="2"
speedcam_soundtype_10="2"
speedcam_soundtype_11="2"
speedcam_soundtype_12="2"
speedcam_soundtype_13="2"
speedcam_soundtype_14="2"
speedcam_soundtype_15="2"
speedcam_soundtype_16="2"
speedcam_soundtype_17="2"
speedcam_soundtype_18="2"
speedcam_soundtype_19="2"
speedcam_soundtype_2="2"
speedcam_soundtype_20="2"
speedcam_soundtype_21="2"
speedcam_soundtype_22="2"
speedcam_soundtype_23="2"
speedcam_soundtype_3="2"
speedcam_soundtype_31="2"
speedcam_soundtype_4="2"
speedcam_soundtype_6="2"
speedcam_soundtype_7="2"
speedcam_soundtype_8="2"
speedcam_soundtype_9="2"

[speedcam_category:0]
activated_spoken_type=speech
activated_speech="Attention. GATSO Speed camera ahead"
activated_min_speech_repeat_delay="5000"
approach_beep_spoken_type=sound
approach_beep_sound="!msg"

and made sure that the same [warning] stuff was in SYSTEM.INI (they were all set to 0 before). Now I get the "Attention. GATSO Speed camera ahead" being spoken but I also get loads of other messages (maybe in Greek). Does one of the parameters need changing?
